 these threads are rough ridin' stupid.

Outing tucks is almost easier than breathing right now.

this "tuck" thing is a myth - go read gpc (if you can afford it) - they're as pissed at currie and as upset with the hire as folks on here are - course that doesn't fit your myth

I have GPC, can't stand to read the drill crap that is spewed over there on a daily basis, but I'm sure it's not you talking all that bullshit over at Fitz's palace.  You are probably a ring of honor member, right?

This board is 150 times the rough ridin' board fitz could ever dream of owning, and it's tucks like you that are making this board GPCII.

You do know that tucking isn't necessarily a "myth" right, tucking is a mindset, and one that you seem to embody to it's fullest.  You "tucks" always try to find the silver lining in things instead of seeing this bullshit in its entirety.

This hire could have been so much more than hiring a coach who was just bought out of his declining program for being awful.

If he turns this around, then we will all gladly eat the vast amounts of crow that you are going to feed us, but please try to be realistic when looking at this abortion of a coaching hire we just had.

Honestly, I don't think this is a terrible hire.  It's a very "meh" hire though.  I'm not going to boycott the program over it or anything but I seriously don't see myself giving a eff about the team again in the near future.  Hey, if Webber has our team back in the tournament next  season and brings in some nice recruits, I'm sure I'll jump back on the bandwagon.  Right now, this looks like a giant buzzkill and an end to the momentum our program looked to have been building under Frank.

question - if you're not a tuck, can you ever see a silver lining?

second question - if you never see a silver lining isn't life miserable?

Honestly what is a silver lining, but someone looking for a reason not to be miserable.  If you see things how they actually are, will you be as miserable as you would be if you were always hoping for the best, but for the most part receiving the worst?  Doubtful.

That is our life as a KSU Q@tz fan.  We can be hopeful for great things, and we can hope to be on par with some of the elite universities in the country. But realistically we never will be, due to the fact that we are always "ok" with mediocre things happening to our program.  We get a mediocre coach, and we Hope he can perform to his potential, when we know for a fact that he will not as he has proven with his past performances.

I get what you are saying, but "tucking" is what you do, there is no way that you can change it.  And I feel for you always being optimistic, and more often than not, having your hopes crushed every time.

better to have believed, then been disappointed, than never to have believed

go ahead and believe that we can't/never will be on par with the elite universities - in doing so, you're holding us back imho

It is the absolute worst hire we could have had. This bad person is going to be just mediocre enough for K-State to keep him around like they did Woolridge and by the time we get rid of him, nobody will even remember that K-State used to be a pretty good team.

A) You had hopes that he could keep this program afloat with getting semi, and also keeping the team together.  Without know what is going to happen, i.e. optimism
B) True, but once you have been scorned so many times, such as most of us at goEMAW, you start to see things differently
C) See B
D) I believe it was you that said earlier that you wouldn't have done the same thing that Currie did. Which I give you credit for there. But you also said that no matter what you did/would have done, that it wouldn't affect the universities decisions.  So I doubt that my mindset is keeping us off the same levels of the likes of Texas, Florida, and Ohio State just to name a few.

But I'm shitfaced and really don't want to put in the effort of explaining my inner workings to you.  So I will leave now, Good day 'tuck.

This is it right here. How on earth can anyone look at where we were in BB when frank was here, then look at this hire and have optimism? I don't give a eff how many times you spin this one - it's a horrible hire. Remember how exciting it was during the football season to also have some kickass basketball to watch as well? That rough ridin' crap is gone. This is a dark time for this program.
We are K-State and we love to hire SHlTTY coaches.
