It's odd how kstatesports brags about its sales. If a car salesman was earhole'n customers about how many cars he'd unloaded on rubes, it'd be really weird, no?

They shouldn't brag? They shouldn't say they set a record? You want them to have a crappy marketing staff?

I am in marketing. We usually brag about the performance of our product, not the sales of our product.

Yeah, that's why you never hear Ford or Chevy say they are the "best-selling car in America".

total number will be down. giving those jerseys away if someone renewed on the first day obviously made first day numbers really high compared to last year where nothing was given away. creates the illusion of excitement.

There have been first day giveaways and prize drawings every year since 2012.

how embarassing for me here. glad to see cc though, even it was just to drop in and make me look like a stupid liar face.

It never says don't question anything, or be a sunshine pumper — me personally, I take it as saying even if you do question stuff, or are unhappy about stuff, it's ok... it won't change the love you have for your school. You can be unhappy about last year and still love K-State. I would hope that describes just about all of us. That's what's great about K-State, we aren't tshirt fans.

Wichita State has plenty of "fans" right now, and lots of them probably never attended school there. If WSU goes 15-18 next year, will lots of those people still be "fans"? Probably not, because their investment is tied to liking winning. It is easy to be a t-shirt fan of a team when they win. Being a fan of a team that struggled last year is harder: if you're not a K-State grad or not part of the "family", whatever that means to you, then last year would be a pretty easy time to stop being a fan or stop attending the games.

But there are plenty of people that will still be fans, even after a season of losing. And personally I think the AD messaging speaks to those people... it says they know last year was hard, and we as fans shouldn't be happy about it, but they understand why you still come to games or buy gear or donate etc... it isn't because you like K-State only when they win.

I did not enjoy last year. I have no idea if next year will be better. But I'm still a K-State grad and a K-State fan, and this team and staff won't change that. So they will have my support as long as they wear the purple.

False hope to people who naively cling to hope for success and a good product, and are dumb dirt gullible - like me.

Wasn't a comparison. They do first day prizes in football, wbb and baseball as well. It's not a new thing they wheeled out this year just because mbb missed postseason.

I think Currie frickin bought up a bunch of season tickets himself and will try and resale on the black market, even though he is guaranteed of losing major $$.  He doesn't care, this way he looks good even after the biggest flame out of a season in the history, and he puts this out there, hoping others will see the "support", and buy in......... :sdeek: :buh-bye:

but we can agree that it would be another poster or something this year if the bball team was coming off a twenty win ncaa tournament appearance season. i mean it's ok to at least point this out and talk about it.

Maybe this was always the plan, maybe it was a reaction. I have no idea, and you don't either. You're making an assumption that supports your narrative.

i have a hunch and i think it's a more than reasonable one but you're right in saying i don't know. i also don't think i'm making an assumption that supports my narrative but i also know what's going on in my brain better than you so this discussion point is/was unfair from the start. saying i'm doing this is like trying telling me what my favorite color is or whether i find one person more attractive than the other.

This is an argumentative deflection that seems a bit dishonest in a way that is out-of-character for the otherwise respectable captain crap.

written word sucks in comparison to spoken so why not make one the other. also i was an english major for like a year or so i think so i can get away with saying this and you can't call me on it. also, two classes with greg eiselein and two As so there.
