Run and gun vs. Slow tempo? Offense oriented vs. Defense? One and dones or smart savvy Seniors?

I'd love to have a fast break oriented team that rained 3's all day. But that's probably a very stupid idea.

The run and gun stuff is only ever really successful if you have dominant players...which we don't/won't. Therefore, I'd love some sort of gimmick* offense (Princeton, Pitch-Post, Triple-Post) but maybe have a decent shooter or two as well.

*By "gimmick" offense, I mean that everyone knows that we're a triangle team even though we only run like 30% of our sets as triangle and the rest of the time we're doing something more traditional.

Defense and rebounding as foundations. Frank's plan was a great one for winning with mid-level talent. Really.

A crap ton of bounce passes and backdoor cuts. Amazing FT shooting. Very few turnovers. No dunkshots. Shorts above the knees. No names on the back of the jerseys.

Find me that coach and you will have yourself a team you can root for.

A team with at least 2* big time scorers. Don't care if they're short, tall, fat, or skinny - just give me 2 guys who can put the ball in the basket consistently at a high level and just build around that.

*This is probably the most we can hope for at any given time

a team that can score points in volume and then play a nice little zone defense that keeps them rested for the important part -- scoring more points

I just want to see a team that gives a 100% effort. That's the thing I liked most about Frank's teams, and what I hope to see with the next Head Coach's teams.

Hadn't really thought on this, but losing Jamar might make this a good time to transition away from JYC ball (if there's EVER a good time, that is). Would have had a hard time replacing him next year no matter what ... unless you believe Gip was ever going to be that guy (he wasn't).

I'm only interested if that coach is willing to scour the Kansas HS BB circuit for the top talent and lock it down.
