I thought I wasn't going to be this upset. But this hurts worse than Huggins. So much worse. Probably due to the fact that so many people on facebook are praising Currie as some kind of outstanding God figure.

Go back and read the recruiting threads from the past 3 years and you'll feel a whole rough ridin' lot better.

JO has another year. Diaz looked good. Upshaw may or may not be coming.

Danny Manning makes a lot of sense.

Is Manning on the short list of coaching candidates?

I'm saying he should be, but I'm not John Currie.  He should be on a lot of short lists.

I thought the consensus around here was that Manning had nothing to do with the development of KU's big men, and that KU's big men were finished products straight out of high school who just needed playing time.

I have some "tucks" and "townies" as facebook friends, I have not seen this at all.

...and we all thought his replacement would never be able to do better?  Well, the same situation can be applied here.  K-State can do better than Frank.  The question is will they?  Tad Boyle owned the sh*t out of Frank in his one year in the Big 12.  He lead a meh Colorado team to a Pac 12 title and beat a pretty good UNLV team in the first round of the NCAA tournament.  A guy like that could do big things at K-State.

The bottom line is you can't expect K-State to hire another Frank.  There's only one Frank out there.  When KU first hired Bill Self, I had a hard time accepting the fact that he wasn't Roy.  Then he won a few Big 12 titles, clownsuited Roy in the Final Four, and won a national title.  Be patient, 'cat fans.  Currie just might surprise you guys and hire a good coach.

I know we can do better than Frank Martin. I just don't believe we will. It's very discouraging to have people from within the AD say that oscar Pearl is not even an option.

Yeah, Sitting in a FF and not being able to do any worse than a FF will do wonders for a guy's ability to support others.

I understand the frustration, but don't get hung up on one candidate.  There are a lot of good coaches out there who K-State could go after (who don't have a show clause until 2014).

To be fair, I said the same thing after Huggins left, and K-State ended up hiring Frank.  Things worked out pretty well then.  I'm sad that Frank is leaving the Big 12, but at the same time, it means that K-State has a program that other schools want for themselves.  It means that K-State has been successful.  You guys are an infinitely better program right now than you were when you hired Huggins several years ago.  K-State should be able to hire a quality coach once again, especially with a new $17 million basketball facility on the way.

Just put Pearl out of your mind, it's not an option and it's not going to happen.  WTF are you idiots so simple-minded that you can't wrap your head around the fact that oscar Pearl is not going to coach college basketball for at least 2 more years?  You really think no one else is aware of his employment status?  Like you're the only one who knows he's unemployed?  rough ridin' idiots.

this about sums it up.  there is nothing we can ever do, minus act like dax, to disassociate ourselves with K-State and the curse we all must endure.

Dax was reinstated by his good friend Bob (maybe not the best AD but still a friend of EMAW) Krause.

I would be relieved if the university was burned down. It's just so hard sometimes.
