I was thinking about basketball style this morning.
While I won't miss the high risk (TO%) and often low reward (poor shooting) offense of Frank, the overall style his teams played at I really appreciated. Basketball at a pace in the high 60s that focused on doing things (oboarding, FT rating) that you could somewhat control on a night in and night out basis. Defense that made it difficult for an opponent to run offense and forced TOs at a high rate. A team that you know would most often "out-work" the opponent. There is something to be said about the ability to get your kids to play really hard, and Frank was really good at that. I will miss that. It was nice to be known as one of the toughest and hardest working teams in the country.
My biggest fear is getting someone who wants to play at 59 possessions per game and oboard at a 25% clip. Would be terrible.
