CF3: "We hired oscar Weber"
Mrs. CF3: "Who is that?  You didn't mention him to me when you told me about all the possible candidates"
CF3: (10 minute rant about the hire, featuring F bombs and sexist language)
Mrs. CF3: (Silently gives CF3 a hug) "It'll be ok..........it's not your fault"

I'm a lucky guy.

This is great.

Slight twist on the original thread. I'm single out in San Diego. Most girls could care less about college sports out here (especially K-State), but I always like to screen potential candidates for any type of hope that we can get along and she will passionately take up the Wildcat banner with me.

Anywhoo, I meet this girl at a bar on Friday. Get her number and all that good stuff with the intent of taking her out at some point in the future.

Fast-forward to Saturday. KU has a decent amount of alums out here. They actually have their own 'KU' bar. Me, being the dick I am, grab my finest Kansas State shirt and head to the bar with my group of friends (one a KU grad, the rest all unbiased) to watch the KU/OSU game. Needless to say, I yell 'Go State' upon arrival. I catch a few boos, but mostly 'WTF' type glances from the packed crowd.

We watch Kentucky/Lou game first and I'm about 4 pitchers of Natty deep at this point. I keep a strong pace for the KU game as well. I am not actively rooting against KU up until OSU buries that 3 pointer late in the game to get back in the lead. I jump up from my seat in front of the big screen and start cheering. KU fan in table behind us goes ape crap and tell me to sit the eff down. I tell him to shut the eff up. We talk crap back and forth before being separated. My buddies escort me out of the bar prior to the end of the game for fear of all out warfare.

Once I'm out of the bar, I start texting the lovely lady I had met from the previous night. I give her the full run down of events that had just transpired. You know what she says? 'I would have worn one of your KSU shirts with you.'

Soul mate.

she sounds really insecure.  Like the type of girl who tells her boyfriend how much she enjoys sucking dick.  Congrats.

I'm a little put off by your first response being to brag about rooting against KU in a KU bar. If I remember correctly, you've just met her and haven't even taken her on a date yet?

I think you're both desperate. Could work out!

I was completely serious.

If she's really hot, that means you have a chance at being her "rock" in a fulfilling relationship AND a she's chick that will be willing to suck your dick.  You can always fix her insecurity later - which if you're not careful can lead to her discovering that you're incompatible with each other which will lead to her not being attracted to you.  But then again - maybe not  :crossfingers:

Was on the phone being depressed with J-Dub last night (probably out 15th conversation about this since Saturday), when Mrs. CF3 gives me one of these:

"Maybe if you two didn't feed into each other's negative attitudes so much, you wouldn't get so down about K-State.  You said we have good players, just enjoy next year."
"You don't understand, this is a disaster.  We will fall off a cliff when Rodney is gone"
"But don't you think there would've been more protesters than just J-Dub, Stevesie, Tobias, and co if this was really THAT bad"
"No because KSU fans are too nice."
"Well, that's a good thing if KSU fans are nice"
"NO ITS NOT YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY"

For the record once I heard the news, I didn't have the energy to drive down. More people would have been there if it were #Gottlieb4KSU. I would have been. The weber news crushed my spirit.

FYI, Teddy_Westside and my other brother (who does not post here) were there with you.

During the event T_W texted me some updates/photos.  When I showed them to Mrs. Hamburglar, she just shook her head and said "I'm glad you guys have something you care so much about and most of the time it is fun, but protesting may be a little too much."

My bro and his wife are KU grads and big fans of those jayhawks. We had a funeral for grandma last month so we were all feeling "life is short" stuff, so Mrs. Rex and I went to St Louis with them and got us all tickets/rooms for the weekend. There was lots of drinking involved each night, and at some point liquor and beer were mixed. Mrs Rexbro didn't take that well. At first, it was cute, super outgoing stuff, including crashing a private room at the Hilton rooftop bar rented by a bunch of Arab dudes from Canada. The first dude trotted out the "toto" line, and Mrs. Rexbro immediately swatted that weak tot action with a scathing Niagara falls stereotype response. She then announced she was leaving, took a bow, and puked on his shoes.

Similar events transpired on Sunday, and thus a tradition of preparing for a KU game by putting a Canadian in their place and puking was born, because KU won both times that weekend. Like a champ, she carried it out from SEK on Saturday, although she had to substitute a Dakotan (Arab Canadians being harder to come across in that area). However, she got lazy and counted her daughter puking, and it all fell apart.

In short, when I was upset about this last week's developments and was ignoring everyone's calls, she sent me a text that said "Sorry to hear about Currie hiring Weber and Martin leaving and Spradling staying. They are all douches. TSC."
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

to answer the thread, ms tobias felt meltdown-y (or bored enough) to come along.  i guess we were kinda preferring a pro-#Gottlieb4KSU thing than having to witness that clusterfuck of a day, though.
