Mark Emmert, president of the NCAA, commented on the JamSam mess during halftime of Baylor-Kentucky. 

Basic message was that the NCAA puts forth 60 million dollars a year for travel expenses/misc. expenses for students, and schools have an opportunity to supply per diem.  The situation should never have occurred because jamar should have had other resources available to him.  He also said he would like to simplify the rule book, expects it to shrink in size considerably.

Sounds like Emmert actually has no idea what the eff actually happened.  Sounds like he heard the Curtis quote about Jamar needing some money for food and decided to use it as a cop-out and completely changed what happened.  "O, he made a comment about Jamar needing money for food, I'll put out a quote making it sound like he meant Jamar needed money for food on the trip to Pitt even though the transaction occurred before Jamar even left for Pitt.  That way, rather than talk about the actual issue I'll make it look like KSU didn't give Jamar money for food on the trip to Pitt."  Nothing but a bullshit quote to make Jamar look greedy.  eff that guy.

I wish I could post a clip of the whole interview with the NCAA president about the Jamar situation. What he basically said was the situation should have never happened, it was an obvious violation with no question about it, and if Currie had ignored it, the NCAA would have thrown the book at us.

But Frank would have tried to hide it and cover it up. No thanks Frank. Give me Currie any day of the week.

Currie did exactly the right thing, which takes courage and integrity, especially when one is being pressured by a slime ball like Frank.

This might have been another "just ask me" moments like w/ the Miami job. He didn't really want that job, he just wanted them to want him. And Frank probably knows Jamar should have sat, but he wanted Currie to include him in that decision.

If Currie, Frank, and Jamar were the only ones that knew about it, you are absolutely right. But I would guess there is some sort of log of when violations are reported from third parties to ensure prompt action is taken by the school. And when the third party is involved, who knows who they told? You think this guy would hesitate to call the NCAA at the same time? On top of that, you have Malone taking ownership of the cash to everyone in the world. But the main thing is the third party makes a situation like this so much harder to manage than just an internal discovery.
