Guys, we aren't going to hire Pearl if Frank leaves, but it is a fun thought.

What crappy midmajor up-n-comer will we land?

Gregg Marshall?

Of course we could do the awesome thing & hire Doc Sadler

One of only 3 legit "mid-major" coaches out there.  Brad Stevens and Shaka are the other two.  Frankly, no pun intended, Gregg Marshall would be a fantastic hire.

So, here's what's happening.

An offer has been extended via third party to Katz.  It's been accepted in principle.

Frank and his agent are covering themselves and saying they haven't talked to anyone.

The South Carolina AD will now formally ask for permission now to follow procedural protocol.

We will give permission.  He will technically interview.  He's gone.

CURRIE STARTS TO WORRY!
Source: K-State AD begs Martin to stay, saying 'If you
leave, the sharks will circle — and I can't swim!'

Why do they need to cover themselves by saying they haven't talked to anyone?

We should be like Auburn and just not have a basketball team.

If the deal falls apart, they will have burnt their bridges back to K-State.

I'd more confident it would be Jank over Undy if we're talking former K-Staters. I'm doubtful Currie would hire from this staff.

I don't think Currie will hire a former K-Stater. There just aren't any good options out there.

Why do they need to cover themselves by saying they haven't talked to anyone?

So they don't get sued by K-State for tortious interference because they damaged a contracural relationship.

This is just now about following the procedural steps.

would be hilarious if frank bombed the interview that was just a formality. If anyone can pull something off like that, it's Frank.

Frank Martin coach watch, Vegas style (keep in mind, i'd be thrilled to see him leave):

Will he leave for a new job this offseason?

Yes +375
No -500

Will he leave for South Carolina?

Yes +750
No -1000

just my opinion  :sdeek:

We have a full team returning with a lot of potential.  We'll see guys like angel transfer and Upshaw decommit if they don't keep someone in house (underwood).  Everyone knows Undy made the offensive change last year to give us a chance to make the tournament.

I don't see anyone important staying for Underwood.
