24 Hour Fitness on Ward Parkway is just great.

that used to be my rock house, way too busy.

How busy are we talking?  I was thinking of joining this one because the small one I went to closed down.

Anyone know any other gyms around this area that are good?

Incredible busy, especially if you go after work.

so when I get to the gym at 6am for hoops, there's this guy that has a locker close to my favorite one, and he is rough ridin' stretching in the locker room. Like, between the lockers. and not just simple toe touches. The guy looks like he is in serious pain and is grunting and straining. He sticks his arms out as wide as he can and makes loops with them. He uses the lockers to do calf stretches (and they are really intense calf stretches). And then he goes upstairs and works out. RIGHT NEXT TO THE rough ridin' STRETCHING ROOM! AAAAAGHHHH!!!!

brother in law was in the steam room at the wichita YMCA and a naked old guy broke out into a similar sounding stretching regiment.  cleared the place out I'm told.

Old ppl have to be using this as a way to get what they want under certain circumstances.  For example, SD's guy obvs wanted a less crowded steam room.  The guys in the locker room probs just want the tall locker, not the short one next to it.  I mean, they realize, but they use it to get what they want, right?  Gotta be one of the only advantages to being old, other than the less expensive movie tix.

Which Wichita YMCA?  There are several...actually don't tell me cause I already know.  It is the downtown Y and there are old balls hanging our everywhere in that place.  There is even a hottub in the locker room where all the old balls get naked and stew their old balls together.

There's about 6 Ys here and I'd have guessed it was the OG downtown one I go to except that wouldn't have cleared the place out.  If anything, the stretcher would've gotten some high fives from the other OBs.

"In good shape guy that wears small tank tops and a knit hat" was there again today.  His little knit hat drives me nuts.  The best part about today was that the guy he usually works out with had a little knit hat on too.     They just look fracking ridiculous with their tank tops and little knit hats.

I have never played but it looks kinda fun. like tennis butthe ball never goes over the fence or way off the court and you have to go get it.

Does look fun but the players look too "in to it" - they carry around a huge bag that has multiple types of gloves, racquets, etc

Just stop it and ask him out already

There's a ton of strange characters in see at my gym.

There's a guy that carries his gym clothes in a roller suitcase and eats his breakfast (usually almonds or fruit) at his locker in the nude immediately after getting out of the shower.

This guy goes to my gym. He's an Elvis impersonator here around KC.  He's pretty muscled up and glorious.  I thought he was a Wayne Newton impersonator until someone sent me this link. It really makes my gym experience enjoyable to see him strutting around.

Nice.  The "about jeff" section is amazing.

"After hearing Jeff's musical tributes to Elvis Presley, many music industry professionals
encouraged him to focus on this endeavor.  Jeff insists on vocal authenticity, and performs the
songs in the same key and arrangement as was originally done."

My new gym has lots of beefed up Egyptians on hgh and Marines running absurdly fast intervals on the treadmills before asking everyone if its ok if they play their pantera CD really loud while benching and doing Japanese-looking pull-up things frenetically.

Sounds intimidating.  I don't feel like I'd be getting good workouts in with all that uncomfortableness floating around.

My Gym, besides having an awesome Elvis impersonator, also has several males of middle eastern origin working out in packs in the evening.  Pretty sure they've never come within 20 feet of anything resembling deodorant.

If l avoid the noon secretary rush, the ellipticals are always open. ALWAYS!

Also, the hgh thing just kills me. "Oh, there's a good pharmacy in whatever neighborhood with good prices"
