Could JO ever play the 4?

If he could guard another 4 that'd be big for us being able to play Upshaw at the 5 next year.

Depends on the four. Mobile 3-point shooter, I wouldn't think would be his best match up. In-the-paint four, absolutely.

Upshaw, JO, Gipson, Diaz, Moose (?) should be a formidable frontcourt for us.  If nothing else, lots of fouls to give.  I'm more worried about the lack of nuts on our backcourt.  Sprads and Tay don't see to be the least bit interested in shooting the ball.

Doc and Tay have to have their toes on the line to shoot 3s (and sprads right now will pass up those when open). Need guys who can stretch it farther.

I like the idea of having Jo and upshaw out there together, I really don't think gipsons ever goin to be effective against good competition. And yea our guards are the main problem, if we had a dynamic scoring guard this team would be elite

JO is going to be great next year.
Just love the big guy. I'd buy him a So Long burger but Currie would report it, bad person.

I don't even remember Upshaw.

He was a four-star prospect and considered one of the Top 50 recruits in the nation by some scouting services when he signed a non-binding athletic aid agreement with Kansas State. He reopened his recruitment after coach Frank Martin left to become the coach at South Carolina.

When people wish Frank was still here, they conveniently forget about threads like this.

Who was that white guy with the really long neck from around that time? I have a meme of him saved somewhere in my vast collection of funny crap I found on goEMAW.

:nono:
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

I like to bring it up whenever the neck gets mentioned, but i was at a party once with a friend of mine whom Bennett walked up to at about 10pm at night, said "I'm on the basketball team, wanna eff?" She politely responded "um, no thank you" and he walked off.

I secretly always wondered if that line, worked half the time, or if he was always just cruising around looking for a patient zero

That's probably at least a minimum viable rate to keep that up
