Quote from: kitten_mittons on March 15, 2012, 03:13:15 PMon the whole, he played really well.No. 0-3 3pt. 50% FT. 3 TO. He did have 13pts. That was nice. And his reverse layup was big. He had some really bright spots. On the whole, though, his play was mediocre.
Besides the TO, he was pretty clutch late in the game.
Quote from: ksu_FAN on March 15, 2012, 04:13:14 PMBesides the TO, he was pretty clutch late in the game.2 TO's. But yeah. He had fed Gip for a LUOB, and a lot of his misses got o-boarded. The + outweighed the - by quite a bit.
He simply made plays no other guard could make. You have to take the bad with the good with Angel. We won't win the next game without him playing well.

Just sayin he didn't play "really well" or But, yeah, he's certainly the best guard not named Rodney. Obviously, that's more an indictment of our other guards.
so did you just come here to be a jerkface?
I don't think anyone said he played really well in this thread (other than eustachy)
If it were up to me, Wintz would be on a fan scholarship, full ride.

Played an OK game.
I thought Angel played well
Q. You joked yesterday about how Angel is accelerating the amount of gray hair on your head. At the end he's the one making the layup, at the free?throw line. Speak to his mental toughness. COACH MARTIN: You're talking about still believing in him after he shot those air balls and all that stuff? Q. Yes. COACH MARTIN: Maybe I should have done what the gentleman said. I should have screamed at him. He would have made them instead of missed. You either have trust in someone or you don't. It's not like I trust him today, don't trust him tomorrow. It's not like I trust him with 10 minutes to go and not trust him with two minutes to go. When you coach, you know, you create faith in players. And that's what the season brings, it brings that trust and that confidence in each other. You know, he made some mistakes. He's a freshman. You should have asked the gentleman from the NCAA sitting next to my bench, what I kept telling him, These freshmen are going to drive me nuts, make me cry on national TV. But my trust in kids doesn't come from a mistake in a game. My trust in kids comes from that daily commitment to get better, to try and do the right things. And when they do that, it's my job to trust 'em, not to run away from them. And I've got tremendous faith in him. That's why you saw him out there making the plays he made towards the end of the game.
