Through 8 games Mike is averaging 40.2 points per 100 possessions. The 40 point barrier has only been broken 20 times** since the NBA began tracking that stat in 1973-74, and 9 of those were by Michael Jordan.

It's a very small sample size, but still rather incredible what he is doing in limited minutes for Houston.

If your basis for NBA defenses being terrible is that more shots go in, then you need to take a step back and appreciate how good NBA players are at shooting vs. college players.

Pretty much. It basically prevents a defender from just standing in front of the rim without guarding a player.

Yeah pretty much just prevents teams from playing zone, but I think there are times when it opens things up for penetration, especially from the corner.
