"mental midget"
« on: March 11, 2010, 09:12:02 AM »
The dax-ism may be a little harsh, but has some truth.  Seems that Frank and Dom agree as the popular beat-writer talking point/pre-game article focus today seems to be Dom.  Will be interesting to see how he responds.  I agree with the premise that he is a key to this team, maybe not as much as Denis/Jake hitting shots, but still a big key.

Quote
"I don't think he tried the last two games," K-State coach Frank Martin said. "Up to that point he was trying. He played with energy and passion and he tried. Then all of a sudden the last two games he didn't try. That's the Dominique we had at times last year, that I hadn't seen this year. It's unfortunate."

Sutton said it was painful to hear that, but agreed.

"Lately, I don't know where my confidence has been," Sutton said. "The last week and a half, I have been slacking."

like i said in another thread he looked demoralized at the end of the ISU game.  the 2 times he had the ball in the lane against ISU and couldn't get the ball above his hips were telling.  his reaction was like ... oh well, i suck anyway.

c'mon Dom!  you are someone!  you matter!  especially to me

I like the "we didn't try" talking point.

Its no Kellis: "Vic Ojeleye  is happy to be playing in KC" but I guess you have to take what you can get with Meek.

Don't worry, Kellis will release these articles under his name after he finishes the copy/paste effort from the mercury's website.

This.  According to most women, namely my fiance, Dom is hot, Wally is adorable like a baby, and then there's some strange infatuation with Denis.   :dunno:

After reading all the quotes from our players, basically implying that ISU was an aberation/hangover from KU and that we just didn't finish the KU game, I hope we play well and win tonight.  All of this "we're back to where we were" stuff is fine and all, but it will look really stupid if we go out and get beat by OSU.

Yea, you can only play the "we're back and mentally prepared" card once, so they better be using it wisely.

I think its often overused, but I hope we didn't do the "peak early" deal this season.  I would hate to think we "used up" our best basketball somewhere between Lincoln and Lubbock.
