I can just imagine the Nubb conversation:
ugly nubb: who did we fire?
Fat nubb: assistant women's gymnastic coach or something
Ugly Bibb: football season! Bo know football!
I'm purple down

Why did he get fired?   Did Dr. Tom find out that things actually were not being done the right way?

It would be tough to think of a worse D-1 job in the country.

Guess for Nubb's next coach: some mid-major coach who has only been a mid-major coach for about 2 years.  Has taken a team from about 8-20 before he arrived to 16-14 adn the CBE.  White, midwestern guy.

I used Nebraska Basketball one time when playing 100,000 dollar Pyramid. The question was Things that can be career ending.

Probably 6 jobs in the MO valley are better jobs than Nebraska

Jank?  McDermot won't leave the safety of Omaha for awhile, Marshall doesn't seem that stupid.

The job sucks but the facilities will make it very tempting.  I would also assume that Dr. Tom comes to the realization that he is going to need to commit more to that program.  Also the new coach won't be burdened down with expectations and Wilk be given a ton of rope.

Not on a micro level, no hell no.  On a macro level I would hope he would understand the benefits of not having a joke of a program, and also wants to build off of the momentum of moving into that arena.  As pointed out by clams, Doc is the perfect coach if you only care about your program not embarrassing the department and he fired his ass.  He cares on some level.
