I'm a big believer in mountain bike even on roads.  Burn more calories for same distance more comfortably.  Also don't look like a douche.

I ride a Trek X01 cyclocross bike mostly on the road. Doing the 68 mile Tulsa Tough ride on Saturday.

I have an old cannondale super v that I ride on the trails out here a couple times a month. Usually just a 20-25 mile loop.
