You are overtraining IMO.   Also, have you looked at bloodwork recently to know what your free T or vitamin D levels are at?

LOL.  Not going to look at my vitamins, man.  Smh.

No, the plan is set now for the next 3 months, then I will reevaluate.  Push day, pull day, leg day, repeat.

I am also going to ensure I am getting at least 150g of protein a day.   Been pretty good about that the last few months, but the next three are super duper super serious.

This begins the Pete 3.0 phase.  Phase 1.0 was fat guy.  2.0 was lean Pete, hot but not scorching hot.  Pete 3.0 is just a beast...nary another old balls 155 pounder in the land will be able hold a candle.

If you are low on vitamin D you will have pretty lackluster free testosterone.   If you are rocking suboptimal free testosterone you aren't going to see much in the way of serious muscle growth.

Well, why didn’t you rough ridin' say so?  Suppose I should go have my self checked.  I am probably due soon for my annual physical anyway.

Yea it's an easy to fix too.  Either good old sunlight or vitamin D3 drops.    Want it over 50 ng/ml  for maximum effectiveness.  If you are going to put in the work at the gym might as well let your body do its thing for you.

Any swimmers out there? I would like to calculate how far i'm swimming/calorie loss by swimming. Not sure what's considered a lap (down and back)? I was counting 1 trip down as 1 and back as 2, so I put in 60 last night in an hour. Is that decent? Super sore today.

Wacky if it's a standard 25m pool then I would count down and back as a lap (as in 50m = 1 lap). If you are swimming for exercise and to just become a generally better swimmer...1:10 to 1:20 per lap is probably a good place to start but after a month or so you should be able to get that down closer to 1:00 per lap.

It's my favorite. Great full body workout, plus it's 0 impact so the chance of pulling a muscle or some other kind of injury is much lower than pretty much every other form of exercise. And for me, when I'm in the pool it seems like the love handles are the first things to go so that's always a nice bonus!

squats are boss of course

in the past I realized they were boss and that I sucked horribly, never have done it for real. I committed myself to learning, and it took a very long time. you have to throw aside your ego and pride and start with just the bar. watch youtube tutorials and read articles.

ankle mobility held me back the most and took the longest to improve. this is true for most people.

pro tip: don't use squishy tennis shoes

There’s so many better things you can do than squats. Absolutely no reason to ever do them

So you’re telling me who’s had 4 knee surgeries that squats are a good thing to do?

are you saying that you cant squat now because of bum knees or that squats caused your bum knees?

after 4 knee surgeries, the squat ship, among many other ships, has sailed

I will agree with that no problem

I had my first knee surgery in 7th grade.  I did squats in high school and had my last knee surgery when I was 22.  So both, to answer your question.  Squats are good for me?

I will agree that high school strength "coaches" are nearly universally horrible and cripple a terrifying percentage of kids

You can get the same benefit that squats give from a ton of other exercises.  Maybe squats are boss for you after you figured out the right way.  They are not for everyone.

only squats can train you how to squat. I sorry you can't train for that goal any more.

deadlifts are even more boss. how many back surgeries have you had?

Deadlifts are not boss either.  My dad had back surgery for a herniated disc about 15 years ago and I had sciatica so bad I couldn’t go to work for a day about 3 months ago.  I’m falling apart Puni :frown:
