I lost about 6 pounds last week.  Mostly waterweight I assume, but i'm definitely in ketosis and I intend to lose 15-20 more el beas.  Also ran for the first time in about a month yesterday, which was...not fun.

Anyhow, keep up the good work you crazy ketokats!

Just stay on the program.  If you can go 60 days without cheating you'll be well on your way and loving it.

oh I've done keto before, partner.  I lost roughly 20 pounds in 5 or 6 weeks last spring.

But with these Chicago winters and all, it's irresponsible to NOT fatten up for warmth.  So here we are.

Also, Wim Hoff.  Interesting stuff, at very least.

t1BW, since you are my guy, do you concern yourself with the nutritional values of the foods you eat? or just pack in whatever fits your necessary calorie ratios?

I ask because when I did it I ate almost totally sausage, cheese, nuts and other processed poisons (see pepperoni cream cheese salami burritio lunch hack)

if you don't eat cured meat garbage, how do you meet your fat ratio?

umm related issue

I think I am having my first shellfish allergic reaction to my breakfast smoked oysters.

Is this reversible or the end of my life?

Give it a few minutes and you should know for sure.  If your questions wasn't about actual death, but about wishing for death because you can't have oysters anymore, then, yes, this is the end.

Not sure I should be telling you this since, I am not your guy, but coconut cream is a delish treat that is high fat.  When I am way low on my fat macros, I drink it straight, put it in coffee, etc.  Really good.

cns probationary guy

coconut everything is boss can co. most mornings I would gut a couple soup spoons of coconut oil. I am fully on board with coconut milk and cream

whats your feelings on nuts? they are like perfectly formulated for keto katting but most alt nutrition dorks think nuts are an antinutrient that kills you.

nuts?

I love 'em, but they are dangerous for me.  I buy a can, knowing I need like a quarter cup, then blackout and the can is empty and I have habanero bbq seasoning all over the place.  Too nutrient dense to play that game of chicken too often.

Whole food cat here. I control nut consumption with a measuring cup. Otherwise, I'll eat the entire can. If I'm still snacky, I'll grab an apple or celery.

Guys what's the general consensus on how long it should take to get into ketosis? If it matters my diet prior to going keto was healthy-ish, almost never with straight up junk food but was a slave to carbs. I'm only a week in but I'd like to get into ketosis as quickly as possible. Diet has been super clean. Nothing processed, just a teensy little bit of cheese (I know cheese is keto), no sweets no cheats. I really wanna get there like asap but I don't know how long it should take to get there. TIA go cats

If your carbs are 25g or less daily, you should be there in a week or two at most.  Also, working out will get you there faster.

So, thats just tennis elbow, right?  I had that pretty bad on my left arm back in the day.  Got some PT and they gave me a few exercises that straightened it out in a few weeks.  Flairs up every so often and getting back in those few exercises straightens it right out.  I had a strap at the top of my forearm that I had to crank down until it was as uncomfy as possible, and that helped me get through a workout, but didn't resolve a damn thing.

Puni my typical days are either uncured bacon and eggs SSU in the morning or a big coffee with MCT, Butter, and heavy cream.  I don't typically eat lunch. I may have some almonds and a stick of cheese or on rare occasion a spinach salad from work with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and chicken etc... salad stuff..  Every night for dinner I have a very large serving of veggies along with my meat.  I roast chicken thighs, pork shops, grill ribeyes... stuff like that.  I roast veggies, (Brussels sprouts, broccoli, or cauliflower and some nights I'll sauté Kale greens or spinach.  I dont' really track my calories or ratios anymore.  After a year I kind of just got in a groove/habit. I drink tea, water, coffee and whole milk occasionally.
