My understanding is that it is a glorified pedometer which helps aerobic exercise and sleep patterns.  It also pairs up with software/apps like myfitnesspal and others.  I haven't found anything yet that will accurately track weight workouts other than the good old pen and paper.

how about your brain?

I'm old and require documentation.

fitbits and the other bands are a total scam.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

This was my opinion of them, I was hoping a member of the tribe might be able to convince me otherwise... I love the idea that they are selling, just it appears to be merely a bill of goods

It's a stretch to call them a scam. They are exactly what they say they are. It's nice that they have heart-rate monitor varieties now for more accurate calorie burn numbers and similar stuff.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Yeah.  I am also intrigued about the sleep monitor part of it.  I am purchasing one for me and one for my wife.  I will report back once we see how they function.

Gf has a fitbit, and just preordered the newest one, the hd or whatever it is. The biggest pro for her is also the sleep monitoring. That, and bragging to her coworkers when she logs more steps (fitbit labels it as flights of stairs too?) than they have at the end if the week. Women, amirite?!  :dunno:

exercise bands are a simple way of monitoring exercise.  nice when they integrate with nutrition programs like myfitness pal.

that is also very interesting to me.  I am anxious to see how it works.  Worst case I'm out $120 for a gadget.

i used to do exercise band work all the time for my shoulder.  great for strengthening all the little muscles in the shoulder, mine was baseball related but they are great for working out and strengthening the shoulder.  hows it feeling btw?

I bought myself the Armour39 HR monitor for Christmas and have generally been pretty pleased with it so far.  It's just a chest strap with a smart sensor that uses bluetooth to connect to my phone.

Apparently the app is supposed to even talk to you, although I've not tried that feature yet.  For me, it's both motivational and informative to know just how hard I'm going during workouts as well as a measure of progress.

Really been focusing on my macros since Christmas time.  Target is to eat 1 gram of protein per lb of target body weight.  Holy crap is it tough to get to 200+ grams of protein per day.  Really leaning on protein powders to supplement around 25% of total intake.

Yesterday I almost killed myself on the ice and hurt my groin pretty bad. What are some good exercises to rehab a groin.
