My roommate accidentally grabbed my gym bag when he left for San Antonio yesterday. I'm trying to squat without my Olympic lifting shoes for the first time in over four years and it is not going well.

It wasn't the shoes.  It was you the whole time.  Now go get 'em tiger.

Deadlifted myself into a pinched nerve last night.  Now walking like a 90 y/o man with a rectal issue.  If this is what those poor old bastards feel like when they walk like this, I am going to come up with an exit plan for 70 y/o future me.

The thing about deadlifts is that you have to stop sometime.  What's your fallback plan to stay tight?  You are an old man who is a father. You need to stare this thing straight in the yes and quit rough ridin' around about it.

Have had this discussion internally already.  Have actually discussed it with a trainer too.  He told me that it is important to keep doing them but do less weight and more reps.  Also to transition to dumbells rather than the bar.

Lets talk about kettlebells.  I just bought a 45 lb one.  Will this thing have me looking like a spartan?

How many calories per day are other swolecats taking in per day? Do you even keep track, or just eat as much protein/healthy food as possible?

I am hovering at or a couple hundred below 1750 per day.  Still losing pounds...just not as fast as before.  Maybe gaining some muscle due to the weight lifting regimen as well.  :dunno:

That sounds fantastic.  I can easily do that on a normal weekend(winter excluded) and get away with it easy, but not during the week.

Would not recommend unless you want to gain weight or you are working out with Michael Phelps

Mostly this. Lots of chicken, veggies, rice, protein bars, and low calorie lime popsicles.  :D

Also, I don't snack on chips, I snack on sunflower seeds.

I am doing neither at this point.

I used to have a bodybug type arm thingy that does cals burned.  Last summer, it wasn't a big deal for me to hit the 5k mark on any given Sat from working out and yard/house work the rest of the day.
