Just got back from a late brunch (if that's semantically feasible)...

I'm 100% with you on the semantic impossibility of late brunch.  If it's after 12:00, it's rough ridin' lunch.  Not breakfast/lunch.  I live in another brunch hotspot (Brooklyn) and this has risen to the level of pet peeve for me.

here's the deal, bigshot. If you are chowing down on eggs and biscuits and gravy and drinking a bloody mary after 12:00 on a Sunday and you aren't at a diner, you aren't eating lunch, my friend.

What makes it brunch, the timing or the menu?  I always thought the menu made brunch, so long as its within an approx 10am-2pm timeframe.

Not a brunch expert, though I enjoy eating breakfast foods for any/every meal of the day

I dont think menu has anything to do with brunch, I've had frickin prime rib at brunch before. Its all about the time, its between breakfast and lunch.  If you're eatin eggs and bacon at noon, youre just too lazy to get out of bed for breakfast so youre eating breakfast fod for lunch.  Or, as I call it, just about every Sunday.

Anyone who thinks menu has nothing to do with it is clearly a juggalo.

kk- i had brunch (late) at this place yesterday. you'd love it. publican was closed. also, that place is michelin rated and lists brunch as being served from 9am-3pm, so suck it late brunch haters.

Was up at the regional security office yesterday. They have a new "illegitimus non carborundum" banner on the wall. Read that how you will.

Simply calling them bastards seems light.  I mean, in the movies terrorists always call someone a son of a goat or something along those lines.  Wouldn't something latin about someone's mom loving goats be better?
