this Egyptian actress went on Instagram and said she wished someone would assault her
That'll probably happen, right? That'd be like me wishing I get out of bet at some point in the next 4 hours.
99.3% of Egyptian women report some level of harassment or assault, so she's obviously just being coy.
There's actually a huge protest march kicking off in half an hour. It was originally an "anti-harassment march," but the organizers and supporters were outraged when Sisi called what happened in that video "harassment," so now it's an "anti-rape" march. It has 25k+ confirmed attendees on Facebook, which is a big deal in a country where sexual assault carries a max penalty of 5 yrs but peaceful protests without a demonstration get you 15 (see #FreeAlaa for details).
But since the gov can't suppress this in the current climate, they're trying to co-opt it. But when their groups announced they were participating, other leading opposition organizers announced they we're dropping out.
In short, likely crap storm at 5 pm local time.
