I refuse to take the legs off of anything or take anything apart to get it out the door. But for some people it is their first instinct, "we may need to take it apart." No. just turn it every way possible and force it out idiot. We're not taking it apart. I will burn this house down before we take it apart.

Have you ever arrived to help someone move and they're still packing?  Infuriating.  I'm helping you move, not organize your crap.

I like when they buy the biggest moving truck available, even if their stuff only fills half of it.

I always do this.  It's a difference of 20 bucks and I have no concept of how much stuff I have in terms of moving truck length.

I helped someone move from Houston to Manhattan, and we had like one of those small u-haul trailers. It was horrible. Go big or go home is what I say.

As much as moving other people sucks, it is fun to go through their stuff and judge them.

Never realized how inexpensive/useful one of those big ass u-hauls are until my big brother moved a year ago.  We packed that badboy up twice, easy peazy.  Definitely the easiest move I can remember and I will always insist that people rent a big ass uhaul if they want my help.  Also- dollies and those straps things that go around your wrists and under the furniture.   My folks said the Lowes dudes had some straps that connected to a harness on their torsos.  Guess they moved the new fridge in/old fridge out so freaking fast and easy it was amazing.

I hate it that moving companies make you keep the truck for a week if you are moving over a thousand miles  :flush:

I am am expert mover and it is infuriating to help people that haven't done it before

Hate it when you show up to help them and they haven't packed anything.  :shakesfist:

This is by far the worst. It's so inconsiderate.

However, helping friends move is just something that has to be done. I'd never ask someone to help me do it unless the help was really needed. I never ask people to do more than one or two loads. I always haver everything packed before they get there, and if somethings not packed or ready to be moved it doesn't get loaded while they're there. Also, a lot can be determined about friends by the way they respond to a move request.

I figured that piano people were like pool table people and just cut their losses on each move

Kind of on that topic, when house hunting, it cracks me up when some realtor says "Comes with a pool table in the basement!".  Not really sweetening the deal with that, Realtor MaGee.

Uhm, I've known some people who have moved a piano multiple times. Multiple.

Yeah carrying a really heavy mattress is hard. I always try to carry it by squeezing it between my hands toward the top with my elbows sticking out. Is there a better way?

it seems like there should be a life hacker solution to this
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

I think using rope underneath the bottom helps, I've seen some infomercial with things they specifically made for lifting and moving heavy stuff

I think he is talking about those moving straps.  I've seen people use these to move bathtubs, fridges, washer/dryer etc.  Puts all the weight on the legs and distributes it a lot better.

They look so happy!
