Brent: Well folks, we are back here in Norman, Oklahoma and the KSU faithful are here in force today and letting these Sooner fans know it. Arthur Brown just destroyed Landry Jones on that last play and the 6,000 strong contingency from Manhattan, KS gave their seal of approval as the Wildcat defense left the field after forcing OU to a quick three and out.
Herbie: Brent, I don't think Coach Stoops was expecting an all out blitz on 3rd and 3. LHC Bill Snyder has his team ready to play today and they are pulling out all of the stops.
Collin Klein is coming in here today off another excellent non-conference performance. He already has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season, but probably even more surprising is his passing. He has completed 76% of his passes for another 6 TD's. The competition is a bit tougher today, so as he leads the Wildcats out for their first series, we'll see if he can keep that prolific production going.
Brent: And here they come from the sidelines, being lead by big #7. Klein will line them up and attempt to methodically move the Wildcats down the......wait....Kirk, Klein has lined up next to the tackle in the TE position....is that.... Arthur Brown behind center????!
Herbie: IT'S NOT BROWN, it is the red shirt freshman Daniel Sams lining up to take the first snap! What kind of scheme is Coach LHC Bill Snyder pulling out of his bag of tricks today?
Brent: Sams now steps back into the shotgun as he audibles while the Sooners are attempting to adjust on defense and the play clock winds down. Here is the snap...he drops back, looking deep for the speedster Lockett who is locked down tight. Sams spins out to his right, he has some room....there he goes! He's to midfield and makes another move. WOW! Another miss at the 30! He is going in! Nobody can catch him now! Holy cow Kirk! This crowd of 80,000 is on their feet in stunned silence except that group of purple letting their Wildcats and Sooner nation know they are here today.
Herbie: Oh man! That was outstanding! Daniel Sams, who only had mop up duty in two games coming into today just took the first offensive snap for KSU 73 yards on a play that you will see again and again this year! LHC Bill Snyder and his Wildcats are alive and well and they just let the Oklahoma Sooners know that they have come into Norman ready to play!
Brent: And Herbie, do you know who had the key block on that play? It was Collin Klein that sprung Sams at their own 40 yard line. The rest was all Daniel Sams as he made four Sooners miss on the way to the end zone. What a play and what a run by the other number 4. The extra point is good and the Wildcats from Manhattan, KS have the early one touchdown lead here in Norman, OK.
