I'm planning on coming in and competing to go and play this fall. I told (Justin) Tuggle and (Collin) Klein that I'm coming after their spot. I know they are there already, but I'm going to go after it. I don't want to let them have it without me giving my best shot for the position. And I know they wouldn't want it any other way.

Arthur Brown just destroyed Landry Jones on that last play and the 6,000 strong contingency from Manhattan, KS gave their seal of approval as the Wildcat defense left the field after forcing OU to a quick three and out.
Herbie: Brent, I don't think Coach Stoops was expecting an all out blitz on 3rd and 3. LHC Bill Snyder has his team ready to play today and they are pulling out all of the stops.
Collin Klein is coming in here today off another excellent non-conference performance. He already has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season, but probably even more surprising is his passing. He has completed 76% of his passes for another 6 TD's. The competition is a bit tougher today, so as he leads the Wildcats out for their first series, we'll see if he can keep that prolific production going.
Brent: And here they come from the sidelines, being lead by big #7. Klein will line them up and attempt to methodically move the Wildcats down the......wait....Kirk, Klein has lined up next to the tackle in the TE position....is that.... Arthur Brown behind center????!

This crowd of 80,000 is on their feet in stunned silence except that group of purple letting their Wildcats and Sooner nation know they are here today.

I appreciate everything about this story. I appreciate that Sams realizes that he is the best WR on this team and he's willing to switch because it would help the team win even though his dream is to be the QB for the Kansas State Wildcats. The kid was asked to play WR (allegedly) last spring and was looking at transferring. Bill promises to keep him at QB. Now's he's asking to be a WR and Bill won't oblige? This isn't on Sams...the coaching staff needs to figure out how to 1) communicate more effectively with it's players, 2) keep stud players happy, 3) keep these rumors between the walls in Bill's office full of Pinocchio paraphernalia. Although I am concerned about Sams' perceived wishy-washyness, his motivations could be pure, and he deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Anyways, I bet Sams is tired of waiting to see the field and is looking at another year where he probably won't see any significant PT at the quarterback position. He thinks he has a better shot of getting on the field at WR this year. FWIW, he's right. But like I alluded to earlier, it's probably not in his or the program's best interest and Bill knows that. Seems cut and dry.

Yeah, I mean, he did share that Snyder wouldn't let him move to receiver because he didn't want him to get hurt and Snyder pretty much told him he was officially the back up and he wasn't there to be anyone's back up. I really liked that part.

Agreed. Pretty fair to say it was frustrating for all involved that Sams didn't do all the off the field stuff that the coaches basically require if you wanna be a starter. Also pretty cool to see him talk about how much he's matured and crediting Snyder for that even though he left the program on not so great terms.

He should have transferred to the basketball team. You can go out and try and kill a guy there with no penalty from the coaching staff
