we've all had a few fumbled exchanges at the drive-thru when it comes to change. but what do you in the event of a wind gust that happens to blow a $5 bill out of the cashier's hand, over the hood of your car, and into the nearby road, which happens to be a very busy street?
a few things to consider here:
- the bad exchange was 80% cashier's fault, 20% my fault.
- i ordered two hard shell tacos, a beefy crunch burrito and a chicken burrito ($4.82; paid with a $10).
- she handed me the change first, no problem.
- there were three cars behind me and I had yet to receive my food; getting out of the car to chase down a $5 seemed awkward; driving away wasn't happening (had already waited for 15 minutes).
how do you handle this situation?
