I had to pay for my friend's dinner the other day because her cell phone wallet thing wouldn't work.  :dubious:

Seems like that stuff is always meant to make things faster but in the end the transactions are slower.  Its like I was at a coffee shop in Phoenix where they ran credit cards on their ipad.  Yeah it looks cool Ms. Hipster Barista, except my transaction took 3 times as long as it should of.

She paid me back more than her dinner cost.

Poor execution then.  When you think about it the strip on the credit card is really only sending a very small amount of information, like <1kb.

It's not designed to save time. It's so you can save money and carry less things.

Got a new one from a family member for Christmas. It's designed to be skinny, so you can only carry about 7 cards in it. It's great, feels like you don't even have it in your back pocket when I'm out:

Question:  if this was a gift was there money included in it?  My in-laws have this belief that if you give a wallet or purse as a gift it should contain money as good luck.  Never heard of that before.

Wallet guy here.

I have always used the double fold wallet like this.

I am debating switching to a single fold like this.

Any recommendo's?

I switched to single fold a year or two ago and would recommend it.

Pretty sure the top one is a trifold and the bottom is a bifold.  And yes, the bifold is far superior.  You'll never catch me slippin with a trifold.

I have a leather Iphone case that carries a few cards.  Eliminates one thing from my pockets.  Also, I am a front pocketer.  Never felt comfortable sitting on my wallet all day and was worried it would fall out when I am sitting.

To me, a wallet just doesn't feel like a wallet unless it's in a back pocket. Kind of like a can of Skoal (quit that crap years ago). However, I sometimes switch my wallet to the inside jacket pocket if I need to wear a suit. Bifold, BTW.
