Was great. Thought Shane played a good first half too.

Love everything about big gip, the hands, the big body, the attitude that seemingly boils up from the inner depths of the mountain of a man that he is, and is ability to only go left

I'm excited that he quickly learned he CAN'T drive the ball at this level.  He's just too damn big and players are too good at taking charges.  Lately if he's more than 5 feet away he's been looking to pass or back the player down.  Some players never seem to figure this out.

He's everything Ron Anderson wanted to be..
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Righty jump hook in 1st half  :gocho:

But yeah, the left is where his bread is buttered and he's pretty crafty at maneuvering into position to get it off.

Plus, he's got really good touch, pretty valuable skill for hoopers of any size and shape.

The absolute best thing Gip could do this off season is to not change his game at all, but to go find another 4" min vert.

Gip is 31 for his last 50 from the field.

His baby hook is a thing of beauty........ that is why i call him Baby Bull

His hook shots dont get blocked but he does get his shot blocked at times.     Mostly just do that he cant jump well and is only 6'7.

I do think he is getting better at using his body to sheild off the defender when he is shooting a short shot off of the glass

Here's where my lack of tech skills put a real cramp in my bbs'ing, was going to try to post a picture of some "Strength shoes" but that's just not in the cards for me.

In all seriousness, the extra vert would clearly help his game but is this even attainable over an off-season? Maybe over a 4 yr career?

No clue at this level.  I knew several kids who did something similar in HS over one summer, but they went from don't-really-do-much-to-improve to working out all summer.  I knew a kid that gained 10" in vert in one summer.  Prob was, that was all he worked on.  Sure he could dunk like anyone, but he wasn't good at anything else so never saw PT in games.

Obvs our guys are already pretty fine tuned so I wouldn't expect he could do that over one off season, but who knows.
