Why in the eff would anyone waste precious waking minutes watching an awards show.  200 channels and you can't find anything else to watch?

Life's too short to piss away your time on the man of taste and distinction-ass Grammy's, just ask Whitney.

Looks like somebody just outed himself as a "man of taste and distinction ass."

Bon Iver - s/t is absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad actual decent music won instead of shitty computer music. There is hope, folks.

Well, isn't "Skinny Love" like 3 years old?

Edit: Its five years old. I have no idea what the criteria for that category is though. :dunno:

they have old bands up for new artist all the time.

I've always thought he was kind of a tool. Like the whole story of him going off to a cabin to find himself right before he started writing and finding his name in an episode of Northern Exposure.

Quote
"There's a big misunderstanding-- I don't want to sell music. But if people are going to be selling music, and they want to sell our music without disturbing the medium of what it     actually is, we want to rough ridin' do that. I want people to hear the music that we make. I don't want to do it in any shitty way."
:jerk:

Ugh.  He's the Anthony Bourdain of music.

YES!  Anthony Bourdain is what happens when people lose the fear of having their ass kicked because of their words.

Well, I supposed that's true, but it's not exactly what I was getting at.  Both are very talented, but they're tortured souls.  They want their craft to be authentic and untouched by commercialization, yet they're both drawn to fame and money and they can't help it.  If they were being honest with themselves and everyone else, Bon Iver would provide his music for free on the internet and refuse to recognize things like the Grammy's and Bourdain wouldn't make piles of cash through a television show and by selling his food and recipes.

The things they say and preach are honorable, but the things they do fly in the face of what they claim to stand for.  Rather douchey.

i enjoyed the Chipotle commercial that debuted during the telecast.

I laughed when I saw it was Chipotle.  An anti-large-corporation ad from one of the largest McCorporations on earth.

Great commercial though.

Yeah, he's been an NPR darling for a while, too. No one likes him because of his obscurity and no one but okcat mentioned it.

Yeah absolutely that, I just wanted to rant about Bourdain and his big mouth.  But yeah both are highly talented, hypocritical douches.

Oh, and Adele sucks.  :comeatme:

Likes Bon Iver and not "shitty computer music," even though Bon Iver has collaborated with computer music acts.  Thinks Adele sucks when her music is as untouched as you'll get.  Makes since.
