Question for X and O smart guys: Offense

When our guys come out to the 3pt line wing area after getting screens down low we always catch the ball with backs turned to the hoop or just not in position to attack.  Is this bad or by design?  It seems bad to me.  I'm probably doing a bad job of explaining this.  Sorry about that.

Takes me back to the 3rd grade when my coach would yell TRIPLE THREAT after I caught the ball.

We rarely catch the ball, usually fumble it first
