Our program is dead no matter what, but retaining Hill would postpone the actual time of death to April 2008 rather than now.

Weiser and Wefald said today that they told Huggs that money was no issue.  Presumably, they would have paid him more than a million dollars to stay at KSU.

So here's what you do tomorrow:  you offer Frank Martin at least $700,000 to take the head coaching job, and you offer Dalonte at least $400,000 to stay as the top assistant.  Huge raise from their salaries this year, head coaching offer should get Frank, and huge raise for Dalonte and top assistants' post should get him to stay.  Should keep the recruiting class pretty intact...and this recruiting class is worth a lot more than $1,000,000 to KSU.

Frank isn't a bad hire, people.  If you listened to Huggs' post game shows, a lot of time he gave credit to Frank for the crucial coaching decisions.  For example, the full court pressure that won the first NIT game was due to Frank's suggestions in practice.

Reading this and thinking slimz could/should be AD just reminded me of a drunken rant I gave to Saturday night's pak in the lobby and/or bathroom of Holiday Inn just prior to heading to aggieville regarding why is it so f'n tough for KSU to get an AD that simply doesn't eff up.  Don't steal, don't drastically alienate the fan base, don't piss off the only coach that matters, etc.  I got loud.  Think there was at least one other non-pak'r observing this likely contemplating whether security was needed.  Need ChiCat's accounting of this.

Relax fellas.  Martin is not only the "safe" choice, but the correct one.  Ultimately Beasley and Walker will leave after one year, and that next year will be a struggle with people mocking us for keeping Frank (if we do), but I can tell this program is turning around.  While our fans might bitch and moan for a year or two about sloppy offense and quick transition threes (I just KNOW dax is going to go off on Martin in about 2 or so years from know about this once Frank gets a pg who fits his style), our relentless over the top desire for offensive boards will simply overwhelm the rest of the weak north teams.

Tim needs to keep Martin here at all costs.  If we lose him we'll regret it for decades.  If he stays, he'll get coach of the year at least two times in his first five years.

I am curious which current coach you think this is. I will base my entire opinion of you and your family on your answer.

The entire basketball coaching staff.  And my post that you've quoted is simply the accurate recap of what Drunk Trim was screaming Saturday night.  That would hardly be my position for eternity and/or at other schools.  I just don't care currently if OB or Deb or the horse coach are happy.  :dunno:

Great answer by Trim.  I'm not gonna lie, this suprised me.  Fully expected a pile of verbal Snyder BJs to erupt from his mouth.

sounds like you spend too much time with sober trim and not enough with drunk trim.  educated trim observers were well aware of his fball coach hatred.

i am more than a little surprised to see him publicly attacking the horse coach, though.  that's not the trim i know.

I thought I'd told you about this but guess not.  One of RP's cowboy hats was a gift from the horse coach.  I boo the crap out of the whole team at their events until security tells me I'm upsetting the animals.

i wonder if garth, or some other similar type, has some insidery, secret contract to supply the horse team with horses.

reminds me, insidery Frank contract info from Chicat who has tons of sources:  Katz is getting a brand new pair of cowboy boots for getting this thing done.
