In the last week or so I posted a thread about how my daughter refused to color a Jayhawk in kindergarten class and crumnpled up the picture and threw it in the trash. Anyway, my wife wrote a blog about it (linked below) and sent it to President Shulz thinking he may get a good laugh out of it. The next day we get an email and hand written note from Dr. Bosco telling Emma how proud his was of her. In the chain of emails from Dr. Bosco you can tell that the email was spread to John Currie and throughout the administration at K State.

Finally today the AD office called my wife and said that they were so proud of Emma and wanted to tell her thanks by naming her the "fan of the game" at the KSU/KU game. The PA announcer is going to introduce Emma and mention what she did. They are giving us tickets and a parking pass for the game.

All I can say is I'm so amazed at the generosity of our administration and Emma is so excited to watch the Cats take on KU.

I don't hate Emma, nor do I doubt the truth of her story. But the "my kid wouldn't color the Jayhawk on Kansas Day story" isn't exatly an original one.

not a surprising story. most KUCC grads have a hard time getting jobs out of college, congrats on this particular KUCC grad getting a teaching job and pulling down $28k a year. sounds like she's doing much better than the KUCC grad who rakes my leaves in the fall.

I don't have any kids so maybe I don't understand, but why did the mom try so hard to get her to color it and then apologize to the teacher? I'm pretty sure this is the opposite of what I would have done. What's the worst that can happen?

True. But the teacher making it a power struggle is the fresh part of said story to me. That's what makes Emma more heroic.
