Conflicted.

SCENE: today/tonight.

BACKGROUND: supposed to provide to/from transportation for gf to bachelorette party/dildo fest.

POSITION: don't want to remain reasonably sober all night while getting cuckolded by huge jelly dongs.

SCENARIO:  I think I could do some inception here and make her believe she would rather not go.

Q: does that make me a bad person?

solution: hire black car for the night. you look like a super stud for treating her and her friends and then you go get bombed with your bros at the outhouse or whatever.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Due to a sudden change in my company's vacation policy, I am only being allowed to roll over 15 days of vacation into 2015, and therefore will be forced to take 39.5 days of vacation/paternity leave between now and the end of the year, which is about 1.8 days per week.   :sdeek:

They should phase that in over two or three years, pay you for the excess unused this year only, or something.

Also, we can't carry over any days into 2016, so that means in 2015 I will be forced to take about 37 days of vacation.  We have a new bean counter CEO and he wants to clear this "liability" from the books.  Agree it's bullshit.  And it is phased (but no payout option).  Also, we accrue as we go along.  So, for example I accrue at a rate of 15 days per year, so even if I wanted to I couldn't take a week of vacation before the first third of the year in 2016 (it takes a third of the year to accrue 5 days).

Basically, IMO they released this policy without much thought and they're going to have to make some very obvious changes.

My old gig only gave us 3 days rollover.  Use it or lose it to the rest.

However, if I wanted to take my three weeks as the first three of the year, I could.  eff that accrue bullshit.

we got upgraded to Office '13 without warning.

I'm trying not to be an old person about this, but it is truly rough ridin' horrible.

Also, if I had had a warning, I would have pared down my inbox to a reasonable number of significant digits so I didn't lose a whole day waiting for outlook to sync.

Yeah, I think most places accrue, but usually you can take it whenever, but if you leave your job while your accrued time is negative, you have to pay for it. The way you are seeing it, everyone would have to take vacation on the last day of the year because it wouldn't have accrued previously. My old job allowed no rollover, fwiw.

you can bank 3x as many days as you get in a year, but they only pay out a years worth of vacation. guy in my office took a month long vacation (paid), came back, retired the next day.

Yup, you nailed another shortcoming.  I will have been granted vacation accrual on the last pay day of the year (Dec 15 2015), about 0.625 days worth, that will be lost if this policy is still implemented by then.
