Frank and ball screens
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:46:02 PM »
Said "some yahoo" was bitching at him going into half about defending the ball screen.

Do you agree or disagree with this tuck talking point?

I kinda felt like our switches were awful all night.

Was it the ball screen or the inability of Doc to guard a top-40 recruit.

I felt like Doc wasn't the only one.  Though Rodney was better, he did have that critical lapse for an open 3.

The ball screen defense was weird. But they did lots of things poorly.

Yeah, we were just bad. Very fortunate to have a shot to tie it really.

ball screens had nothing to do with it.  it was the five off ball screens they ran pledger off every damn play.  our guards didn't stay with him, but then why the eff would you expect them too?

but really, looking at _fan's stats, nothing kstate did defensively contributed to the loss.  the d was more than adequate.  offensively (shooting and turnovers) kstate was incomprehensible.

If it wasn't so tragic, it would have been comical watching Spradling try to fight through the staggered screens on the baseline.

Offensively we have no one who can create. Every shot must come within the offense. It's horrible to watch. So many meaningless passes. Quit passing and just score the ball you retards.

You don't like Spradling's patented drive-in-3-feet-then-scramble-back-and-reverse-around-the-perimeter move from the shoulder? It's nails, man. Nails.

I've never seen a d1 guard reverse pivot so much. I mean seriously, he reverse pivots all the way down the floor against pressure sometimes. He looks like a high school player during pregame warmups.

OU deserves a lot of credit for that. Their defense reminded me of BCG's good aTm teams and what Frank would like his defense to be like (and is, sometimes). They were playing their asses off and our guards (*non-Angel) couldn't handle the pressure.
