I had a bet with a friend after I saw Adjustment Bureau that it would get a nomiation for something :flush:. I really hope Brad Pitt finally wins an Oscar. Moneyball is all over the place.

This is a pretty weak year for Oscar nommo's.  Was suprised that this is Gary Oldman's first nomination.

I kinda do. I'm kind of a movie geek. I root for actors like I do with teams and sports. I wish I knew everything was going to blu ray, my dvd collection looks a little silly now (Have over 200).

Tree of Life should be the only nomination for Best Cinematography.

actors are the most self aggrandizing idiots in the world.  anyone can rough ridin' act, not anyone can play the 4 like amar'e stoudemire.  what do they have, 40 different award ceremonies celebrating their accomplishments?

Fair points here clams. Athletes are effing idiots too though. And I too appreciate me some Amare. I mean the oscars is like the BCS Championship game. All the other award shows are equivalent to the Meinke Car Bowl.

I think the "honor of being nominated" for best picture was cheapened by expanding to 9.

Lots of people try and try and see each nominee before the Oscars, but they shamelessly exploited that be expanding to 9.

yeah pretty surprising that Hollywood shamelessly exploited itself, surprising indeed

It won the Golden Globes. The Oscars are fun to watch, even if the actual winners/nominees kind of suck.

What is the cutoff date for these movies? Didn't ELAIC come out like, yesterday? It got like  :star: :star: 1/2 in the KC papers, yet a Best Picture nom.  That's unheard of.

I saw it in December. :dunno:

Also, the critics for the KC papers are low budget and stupid(like everything in KC).
I liked it more than the other three movies I watched that are also nominated.

I thought the Muppets was fantastic, no nomination? Also, should probably just label Game of Thrones as a really long movie with a week intermission between each part and give it the best picture award.

I saw it and it was horrible. I couldn't believe it was nominated. Usually, I just haven't seen most of the movies that get nominated, so I don't have any comments, but this one sucked.
