Sounds like Daris should put his records in the Fatty Fest auction.

man, you would flip at some of the shops around here. old country is all over the place. have a friend who primarily collects Guthrie and the like who has a pretty substantial collection.

Most old country seems pretty easy/cheap to find unless it's Johnny Cash. (He may be easy to find, too, I haven't really looked). Of course I don't look for much specific - a lot of what I own is finding one album I like on discogs and adding cheap filler albums that look interesting to make shipping less per album.

what would I do with 10 record players

I got a really good one not long ago for $15 from some old lady whose dad owned a hi fi shop. She had some players that were 40+ years old still in their original packaging. I would have bought one but they were kind of shitty models.

idk. people that like stuff like that just seem to like stuff like that i guess. also, sorry you won't be allowed to get your hands on that cmunks album. it's a star studded song lineup-betty davis eyes, leader of the pack, whip it, jessies girl, plus many other great hits.

also, one thing that i just thought of would've been to buy some inexpensive chain like for a bike lock or whatever and a three dollar can of gold spray paint and then you spray paint the chain and you spray paint the old record player and then you drill two holes through the record player and then you wear it around your neck on the chain like flavor flav clock style. i mean i can think of more if you really want but like i said i already tossed them so the whole exercise seems futile.

oh man you guys i just had a vision of ol rus doing this and walking through like mission viejo or wherever and he's got a backpack full of records and he's just walking and listening to his record player that is hanging around his neck that is connected to a small battery power speaker in a hand held duffle bag or similar and then you see him stop, pull out the record that he was listening to and put on a different record and start playing it and then hop on the bus and head to jimmy johns for some lunch and people are all just oh wow did you see that guy?

Maybe if Mrs Gooch shared what she is into then seven might be able to balance the old free time hobby situaish.
