No one would even think about disputing the importance of getting to the line, and yes, last year, and probably this year (I haven't paid THAT close attention) we seem/seemed to hit the FT's at crunch time more often then not.
However, I will shake my fist at you if you attempt to tell me that hitting FT's early in the game, particularly in "building a lead" scenarios can/cannot influence how the rest of the game goes. You go to the line . . .. say with a chance to build a lead to double digits (keeping in mind Big 12 officials ability to call games totally one way for certain segments/and then completely flip-flop and call it completely different during another segment), that potentially influences how the other team will play (toss in a home crowd factor . . . oh wait, our home crowd this year is a complete non factor) However, with that said, given this teams maddening ability to pi$$ away leads, maybe that doesn't matter either.
