Big 12 Awards
« on: March 07, 2010, 11:13:26 AM »
will be announced every 10 minutes.

So far Frank Martin has been named COY and Epke Udoh is the Newcomer of the Year.

Frank is a mild surprise, I would hope Udoh got 11 votes.

Was curious about this one, thought that one of those Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) morris twins might sneak in here (doesnt one come off the bench?)

I thought there was some MU guy that had good numbers as well.

Mizzou has had quite a few guys in the starting line up.  If they were to have a 6th man it could be Denmon, Dixon, or Bowers, none of whom have had great numbers

Player of the Year   James Anderson, Oklahoma State

Thank goodness the coaches weren't blinded by media hype.  Anderson was far and away better than fat boy.

Big 12 All-Defensive Team

Ekpe Udoh, Baylor
Cole Aldrich, Kansas
Jacob Pullen, Kansas State
J.T. Tiller, Missouri
Dogus Balbay, Texas
Bryan Davis, Texas A&M

This team is bogus, why are there 3 centers on a 6 man team?  Pullen is a mild surprise.  There is really no reason "ain't no seats" should be 1st team all conference, but he will.

3 centers and 3 pgs.

still, it's not a bad list.  it's good to see pullen get some recognition for his defense.  his improvement as a defender has been incredible.

agreed.  I don't think Damion James should have been unanimous.

I would definitely rather have these bragging rights than 2 wins over uk.  Not even close, really

just goes to show how good of a coach frank is.  No way self wins the award if he loses to ksu twice.
