Little bit of both.

1st half our offense looked awful and out of sync.... our TOs set up OU for some easy possessions (thus the 38 pts)
Sprads was not playing good.   When we took him out it even got worse since Frank was not going to play Angel today (8 poss. with Sprads out of game - 2 pts 3 TOs)

2nd half.   Our defense was just absolutely terrible.    We played small the whole half.  OUs bigs just had their way.    The only bright spot in the 1st half, Jones,  was on the bench almost the whole 2nd half.

Pathetic........ both coaching and play of our players

respectfully, yes it was, didn't play angel, diaz, or gip and tay very much, probably to teach some lesson in the middle of the conference season, then chases a Krueger team around making what they do even easier.
We needed stops from 10 minutes left in first half on, and we freak out, chase and get out of position the rest of the game.  Left Jamar in with foul trouble so he starts playing soft around the bucket.  This was totally a "I'm mad at you 3 on the bench, you are going to cost us the game because I won't play you, sit back and watch us lose, bullshit lesson"
it’s not like I’m tired of WINNING, but dude, let me catch my breath.

dax's world, where every loss proves a coach outcoached, a player stupid, and backup quarterback to have been better than the starter.

as much as I do the over-generalization I have to agree.

Offensive game plan for OU exploited our over willingess to over peruse everything like a dog chasing its tail.  Our defense was atrocious at all levels.  Bigs out of position, guards who couldn't keep a tree in front of them and horrible personnel changes.  Our offense did nothing to get the ball inside or encourage our shooters to take reasonable shots.  Frank's MOVE to anyone in voice range doesn't stimulate anything.  Either we don't know the plays called or we don't know how to adjust the plays to the defense.  Either way its on the  coaches.

I don't get it, whenever Jones is doing it it seems like Martin just sits him. I pisses me off

I think it was a Frank being Frank game. And I think it started in Wednesday. Five players running steps? Really?
How in the hell do you practice with that going on?

Either way its on the coaches.

ultimately everything is on the coaches.  i don't object to blaming them, i object to the knee-jerking, reactionary way of allocating blame.

I object to the knee jerk reactionary ways of always tossing the players under the bus.   Yeah, they stunk, and it's the guy making $1.8 million dollars this year job to make sure they don't stink.

Lazy tired defense sure, but OU made sure they took advantage of every weakness that K-State has on defense, over play, run to the ball, $hit on ball defense at the guard position except for maybe Tay .  . . toss in Frank being Frank and you have a day like today.

Plus, and while I'll defer to Jeff Capel and his "recruiting" it is kind of sad that we're in Year 5 of the Frank Martin, and yet teams like OU have equal to, if not better talent than K-State and they've not been very good and had all kinds of upheaval in that program.    But hey, it's all about the "right fit".

I would disagree to a certain degree.  The Baylor game is the freshest example to counter point.  There I think you could say players lost that game as much as you could blame it on Frank.  As much as I put it on him for that one, I think a legit argument could be made the other way.  Angel blowing a wide open lay up, Sprads not taking the inbounds pass at the end, over helping on D all night.  There are various arguments.

I think the most worry some part of all our losses are horrid coaching decisions which kill momentum (zone today and @ KU for wide open 3s), unexplainable coaching personnel decisions and worst of all ZERO player development, particularly with our post players who are still making freshmen mistakes and moves.

Pledger = McGruds.

Really?

umm, yes.

also, Fitzgerald is a 4* , so is cameron clark.

actually, OU is more talented.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I know nothing about OU basketball this year.

this is what i mean.  i mean, did you see how bad kstate's man was?  how could you possibly object to playing zone?  there is no way it could be worse.  so they hit a 3 right after, that doesn't mean anything, they were scoring at will against the man.

it's just mindless knee-jerking.

oh, and we never had momentum.

Kind of assume Angel is going to get Asprillaed.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Have you rough ridin' watched OU this year? There are only 3 maybe 4 Big 12 level athletes on the roster, and there is no rough ridin' size.  Pledger and Fitz can both score a little but they're flawed athletically. I would take KSU's roster over OU's everyday of the week.

disagree entirely

if i'm remembering correctly we switched to zone at 6:18 in the second half and the OU guy hit their 3.

Now if we look at the stats, its absurd to say we didn't have the momentum.
At 8:23 we were down 18 (69-51).  Over the next two minutes we got the lead down to 8 with a 10-0 run.  That is momentum in this league in an away game.  To say otherwise is dishonest at best.
We were man D during that 2 minutes I believe and than left them wide open again for 3 to kill the run.  It was a mirror image of our coaching staff failing us at KU with the same idiocy.
