is Mexico unlocked at first or do you have to unlock it over time by doing missions? 

It's locked.  I haven't unlocked any other spots yet and I have done a ton of stuff.

Good luck. Only 3 plants are in New Austin. You need to unlock the others to get to the other plants.

Don't let that get you down.  Those flowers will come in handy in "flowers for a lady."  Have you done that one yet?  If not, ride over to the creek area south of thieves landing and look for an old dude picking flowers.

Do you dudes loot bodies?   I was for awhile, then I figured out that you get hardly any money for doing it, and it hurts your street cred too much.

You can make twice as much killing animals.  You can shoot prolly 20 deer in 10 minutes at Riley's Charge and then wipe your ass with 10 dollar bills.

Red Dead Redemption is like the Champagne Room.

It takes a bit to get used to everything, but once you do the game is really fun.  My advice for early starters is to simply pull up your map and go to any spot that has a big white letter on it ("B" for missions with Bonnie, "M" for missions with the marshall).....Oh, and until you get handy with your guns, ride like hell if you hear a cougar or a wolf (more dog-like sound than the coyote yelping)....'cause they'll kill your horse.

i always thought the 'M' meant Mexico.  also, pretty terrible with my guns.  the auto aim feature seems to be spotty at best.

I only loot bodies after I mow them down with a gatling gun and they're all in a pile. I try to get all the ammo though for sure.

Also, you need to quickly pull the left trigger, and this will site the gun right on the target, then very quickly follow with the right trigger to fire the gun.  Works like a charm.  When shooting, and not using the "Dead Eye" time slow down thing, you really need to think of it as a two-trigger action....quickly pull the left then the right.  LEFT-RIGHT, LEFT-RIGHT, LEFT-RIGHT....you just mowed down three dudes (unless using a shitty gun, and then you need to shoot each dude twice).

Also, when you lock on using the left trigger, you can move your crosshairs up slightly and go for head shots. It's tricky but damn handy when you need the speed.

Huge point right here.

It's imperative that you do this when you got a dude in the distance hunkered down behind a box or something.  Many of the dudes will pop up for a full exposure of their chests, but every once in a while you get one that just stays low.  THAT's when you use this handy maneuver.

Also, when you are in either of the missions in the gap-tooth breach mine shaft, just put that rifle away and use the cattleman's revolver hand gun.  Double tap every mother rough rider you encounter, and you'll breeze through it like a champ.

Bought it last night on PS3.  Played for a bit. FWIW, I believe "Tecmo Super Bowl" was more popular than "Tecmo Bowl", and they based the game off Tecmo Bowl.  :/

I don't think you can edit the players names.

EDIT: According to this link you can edit their names.

Not sure that you can download them, unless you were to download a save file from the internet, put it on a memory stick and transfer it to your PS3.
