The Halo Reach Beta is amazing. I can't stop playing it.

 

I'm getting bored with it.

Don't care for playing by myself...much more fun when its split screen. I'm guessing i will be tired of it just about the time they take it away.

I don't think I've played once by myself. It doesn't keep it being just as aggravating as the other Halos.

do you know how many new maps there will be? 4?

In the game or beta? In the beta, there will be 4. The 2 normal maps, an Invasion map, and a Generator Defense map.

Portal is available for free.  Civ IV series is available, plus a ton of indie games.  Not much yet but i'm sure it will grow.

Gonna install it on my wifes Mac tonight so she can play some of the games.  It looks like any existing games you own labeled with the "Steam Play" icon means you do not need to purchase a separate copy for each platform, which is nice.

I've checked out the Steam forums and TF2 is not available yet.  Apparently it was then they took it down. 

Not sure on the version she has.  It's a MacBook, don't know what speed.  I got it in 2006.

don't expect much w/ frame rates on that macbook.  and even worse if it's non-intel.  those non-intel macs are hurting in the benchmarks i read.  engadget has a link to a story w/ some benchmarks.

just downloaded steam (they have portal up for free right now btw). i have a new 27" imac so i think it will be good enough for me but yeah a 4 year old macbook wont be good for it. i gotta buy this thing that allows me to use my 360 wireless controller with my mac, anyone done that before?

seems sacrilegious to anyone who has not grown up on a console but my friends that have only played on consoles look at me cross eyed if i fire up Q3 CPMA and start bouncing around with my keyboard/mouse.

Same way. Half the time, I lean towards playing some games on my 360 pad though, mainly due to my laptop keyboard being horrible for gaming.

This is what's holding me up. Steam has maps, Babylon, and the soundtrack, but I want to know what other goodies are available.
