Yeah, I could see Sony wanting to put a new one out before Microsoft does.  The XBOX360 Slims are selling really well right now, there is really no reason for them to put something out very soon.  Also, the price points are still two high on the PS3 and the 360 that if they put out something new it would have to cost something like $600.00 for the base model.

I hadn't heard about that - I would think this year would be premature.

The next Nintendo console is supposed to be announced at E3 but will most likely be released in 2012.

ya the new wii supposed supports HD w/ backwards compatibility.

ms or sony won't be releasing a new system anytime soon.

No Sony or MS console this year. Wii2 maybe by holidays this year. Most likely after.

Next Gen consoles are going to be a tough sell. Graphics won't be a major jump. There aren't many new features that they can add. Thats why Sony and MS are waiting. They're obviously being developed right now, but release won't come for a couple years.

fwiw i watched a vid on cnet about a month ago saying the 720 wouldn't be realisitcally considered for release until 2015.

User reviews on metacritic are bombing it for being too short. Portal was incredibly short, but it came in the Orange Box. Portal 2 is a standalone. I don't think it will be worth $60.
