I thought joker doing that was hilarious

Everything about it from both sides was great. However one thing I'm learning as I follow this more closely Eurotrash tennis fans are the dumbest of the worst.

Yes! I wanted to enjoy this on twitter but the racist eurotrash was so aggressive, even on the tennis letter twitter account which was surprising to me

Men’s final is being played very closely. Lots of good points.

Early rounds of Wimbledon are so great on ESPN+. Lots of the outer courts have no commentary but have great mics so it feels like you're there. I've been enjoying rain delays where the feed just keeps going and you see the grounds crew kids go CRAZY clearing and tarping the courts

With NBC losing the French Open, hopefully we'll get to have a similar experience from a watchability standpoint like we have for the other 3 majors. With TNT getting the rights, I would think it'll be similar to the first few rounds of the NCAA tourney (matches on TNT, TBS, TruTV, etc.).

Probably will be a lot on Paramount Plus. I just can't see there being enough interest to justify putting more than two matches at once in regular TV but who knows. The ESPN coverage is just tough to beat

Also let's go ostapenko!!!

I've been taking it in on ESPN+ as well. You get to see lots of people you'd normally never see. Which for me can be like reading Dostoevsky. Like, "oh, there's a Rybarikova in addition to a Rybakina."

I learned why the first 3 scores in tennis is 15,30,45. They used to keep score on a clock way back when apparently.

He was wearing a knee brace. Is he recovering from an injury or just getting old?

He had knee surgery after withdrawing from the French Open! And he's old

I don't have time for following outside of the majors tbh and even then I can barely keep up with more than my few favorite players. I wish I could, it's an exhausting sport and usually in a different time zone.

also my current favorites that I usually try to watch as much as possible in the majors, both singles and doubles:

Men:
Ben Shelton
Daniil Medvedev

Women:
Ostapenko (who kicked her coach out of the stadium during her last Wimbledon match  )
Sabalenka
Leylah Fernandez
Taylor Townshend

I also really enjoyed this player Yulia Putinstseva who like Ostapenko does not give a eff and may be a new favorite

fun fact: her doubles partner is married to the coach! They played the same day and also lost to the eventual champions. I didn't watch to see if he was back but I think I will now.

tennis is a great sport. I really didn't know anything about it before one of my kids decided to go out for the HS team. The matches are really fun to watch and the atmosphere is great.

It seems like some of the traits you like in women's players you don't like those same traits in men's players. Ostapenko is kind of an ass.
