Yeah. I feel like a damn Cubs fan just waiting to see if my team can make it to the last month before being mathematically eliminated. I don't know why I have such different expectations for basketball versus football. I know I'll get all excited for the NCAA again, but until then another 20/10/4 regular season with no real chance to win anything just feels meh.

You can't let it be meh. I'm extremely happy with 20/10/4 and dancing every year. If I ever get disappointed with that I might as well quit being a Cat fan and like Duke or something. I'm not anti-expectations, but I don't know if its reasonable as a K-State fan to expect league titles consistently. I sure don't.

I don't want t be the virginia tech of bball. Not a perfect comparison, but I think my point is understood.

Anyone not enjoying the crap out of this season wasn't a fan pre-2006-2007

does this mean you're done melting down?

So I'm assuming you expect us to be Top 10 and contend for the Big 12 title every year then?

Being angry about the way we played doesn't mean I'm not enjoying the season.  And the carelessness with the ball angered me.  But I'm still enjoying these cats.

And yes I'm done melting down.  Expect a serious meltdown Saturday around 3 if we lose in Norman.

I would love to have a top ten program and WIN a big 12 title once or twice. I'm not taking that for granted. My point is that every year VT is predicted to have an impact, they lose one or two early, make a BCS bowl. After so long of never getting over that hump and playing in a national championship, I'm not sure they will under Beemer.

I would gladly take a year missing the bubble if it meant a final 4 in the following years.

Edit: Our hump is a big 12 ship and a final four. And I say final four very aribitrarily.

I think you need to pick a differnet program then. In the last 19 years VT has finished ranked 17 teams. In the Top 10 seven times. BCS bowl appearance 8 times.

I'd say BCS is equivalent of a Sweet 16, at least close. If you give me a 20 year stretch with seven Top 10s and 8 Sweet 16s I would be estatic.

Its not perfect because VT plays is a horrible conference. They just have to be better than the rest of the shitty ACC football schools.

sorry for any typos, I'm on my tablet.

I could give a rat's ass about winning a regular season basketball title.

Yeah. I don't know why I care so much about it every year. I usually get over it by February.

Anyone not enjoying the crap out of this season wasn't a fan pre-2006-2007

Acknowledged. Between 96 and Huggins, I barely paid attention. I actually followed it really close during Wooly's last year. Not sure why.  Maybe made it worse? I'm not denying my irrational reactions here.  Given the timeline, I probably just wholesale relocated my crushed football paradigm to the bball team after Huggins.  :dunno:

I would really, really like to see the Cats win a league title in hoops in my life time. I can see the disappointment in being mostly out of the hunt now.

I don't think we are either, just going to be an uphill battle and take some help.  Would really like to see us cut down the nets for the P66 though

Yeah, a major uphill battle. And at this point we'd probably half to win out at home and go no worse than 6-2 on the road the rest of the way. Not impossible, but very tough.

Would you rather have the regular season title or the tournament title? I lean towards tournament.

Let's also not forget that while we are all but assured an NCAA tourney spot, we also want a seed high enough to get placed in the Omaha region.   :excited:
