@Jpullz0
I'm glad we beating them cause I really don't like that team or players and now that I'm out of college it doesn't matter if I say it lol

@Jpullz0
Besides English and the Lil pressey I don't like that team always thought they were better than they were smh

@Jpullz0
Specially Dixon and Demon #trash but again this is just my opinion lol

McSplosives, McDunkin O’Rebounds, McJYC    Rodney, Rodney McGruder.  I see you.  I love you and I want you to know that.  I have always wanted the best for you and now you are showing it.  You are the heart and soul of this team when you play like this Rodney.  You lead by example, you show passion with every hip swivel on defense, every sprint from the wing to the middle of the lane to grab a long board and extend a possession, with every transition oop, with every floater, with every dribble drive, with every minute you play.  You were as aggressive as I’ve ever seen.  You are our best player, that is your role.

"It was just a different mindset that I had going in to today’s game, just trying to attack the rim and not settle for the three so much."

I wanted you to shoot the three ball, you’ve done it before and done it well.  You are a tremendous shooter.  I don’t know if you will be again, but I don’t care.  You are now the lead JYC on a team chock full.  If this is your destiny, I will not fight it nor mourn the path untraversed.

D!-E!-P!-TH! DEPTH! DEPTH! DEPTH! Tay-Will-Rod-Jamar-JO with Gip/Southwell/Angelito off the bench.  That is a bitch of a lineup if we play with intensity and aggression and today was an absolute bitch for Mizzou.  The free throw rate was solid and we forced a war of attrition.  Gipson staying under 20 minutes is a huge positive.  His energy and focus were better when Frank sat him for some Nino time.  Nino will hopefully be out there more and swallow up some of the scraps that are getting fed to the likes of Diaz and Ojeleye.  His energy and rebounding are at home with this team.

The straw that stirs the drink  great feeds to Gip, Jamar, JO and Rod all night.  A very nice game from him.  South-meh is shelved for the time being.

The 40+ foot bounce pass by Dixon  that was sick.  However, he is still #trash.

The zone and trap was good and plays well with the 3-2.  It is going to be a look we use to rest guys in foul trouble and also to shorten the game with a big lead.  I liked Rodney on top and I particularly like Angel in the 3-2 because he gets to trap and play passing lanes and can be aggressive without as much risk of contact/fouls.

No Ricky Ratt While Ratliffe ultimately melted down, he did nothing in the 14 minutes he did play.  A huge win for the bigs.

JO kind of DOB, but really ROB Led the team in rebounds.  10/8/4 blocks.  As dominant as we needed him to be to win,  when coupled with the play of the rest of the team, he helped ensure the comfortable win.

Rebound! It helps that Mizzou shot terribly and we did not, but 39-25 Total and 13-7 on the offensive glass was another reason we won so convincingly.
LOLs-  Jamar’s double foul to foul out.  I loved it.  I loved Dave Lewis’ absurd triumphant recitation of Jamar’s name as he walked off the court to thunderous applause.  Jamar is a delight on days like this.  DenMom’s pumps/get up.  Frank’s charge/block routine with the refs.

Sprads for THREE!  44%?!! I worry that he is now clearly the only shooter confident and capable enough to catch and fire.  This is a serious liability for the team going forward.  Tay or Angelito must fill the void that McGruder is leaving.  It appears as though even situational minutes for Jeremy Jones are not in the cards at the moment, but he might be another potential shooter off the bench.

Tay Tay had a typical, solid game.

#teamAngelito  got to the line, passed the ball well, played pretty solid D, fine effort.

Big Gipper This is what we need to see out of him.  I don’t think he’ll repeat this against Baylor, but if he can dominate inferior/undersized posts the rest of the year off the bench.  ThankyouverymuchI’lltakeit!  He finally started going to the hoop with more strength, had a nice new move where he faked away and then took it in to the lane toward the rim.  Still has not figured out how to use the backboard, but Jamar doesn’t either so let’s just hope for the best on that one.  Overall he is wise beyond his years, has very strong hands and is figuring out his positioning on rebounds.  He is going to be a beast in a year or two.

The first legit Sandstorm of the year!  TWICE!

Nancy Neg’s

5....4.....3...2....1.....WTF? It is largely Frank’s fault for not designing a few in-bound plays that consistently work.  It is also terrible execution by the in bounds man (usually Rodney).  Eating the timeout and the possession is almost always the right move, yet this has happened fewer times than the 5 second call.  Again, that is back on Frank.  It is a pretty minor issue, but it matters.

Jamar doing Jamar things  I honestly am not upset about this at all, but it needs to be noted that this was a relapse into full-on stupidity.  The double foul to foul out of the game was so beyond the pale absurd that I don’t know how to formulate a coherent thought about it.  Jamar chooses the strangest battles to go to the mat for.  Maybe this is what makes him tick and allows him to be the intense aggressive player that we love.  Who knows.  On a different day it would have been endlessly frustrating, but it wasn’t on a different day.  The bigger problem for me was the lack of rebounds and free throw attempts.

Students please come back  I know you aren’t back yet, but Jesus the place needed some more GA.  I think Currie should look at removing the games from the student package and just selling single games during the holiday season, with some sort of voucher for students that show up.  It is a great opportunity to increase revenue and most of the students will not give even a single eff.

LOLs   Sprads’ insistence on trying to set up the charge regardless of whether or not it is a smart thing to do.  Nino giving himself the green light to shoot 3’s.

GOATS UP!

ANGEL!  That is NOT the shot we want!”

Vic.  Just, stop.  Stop it.

GOATS DOWN!

Southwell “That was a heckuva a pass.”

WILL SPRADLING “FOOR THREEEEEE!”

don't you dare nancy samuels for the refs inability to ref.  also, lol @ you if you truly are worrying your pretty little head about mcgruder and ar-t's shooting.  and gipson's spin move like a house should have been singled out as a positive.

the rest is pretty good.  you could expound on martin's charge/block thing.  i don't think that made it to the tv cast.

I don't think McGruder is planning on completely abandoning his 3 game, but just trying to fill the void of players who take it to the hole (currently only Tay).  Hopefully this helps him to get some better looks from 3.

What is your call on the double foul play?  I never saw a replay and it was across the court, but from what I saw it seemed like a typical Jamar double-foul.  Gip's spin move was incredible.  Not sure if I made that clear in the Gip comments or not, but it was what I was referencing.

Martin block/charge thing:  After the missed call on Sprads or Tay (block instead of a charge) Martin went and earholed one ref and then did the, I'm going to talk/motion across the court at the guy that made the call.  This call was followed up by a charge (I didn't see) on McGruder (they actually called a forearm push off, but is that going to mess up a good Frank PI?  Hell naw!) then Martin doing an imitation of Assley's wife's travel-shuffle (implying that the Mizzou player was moving his feet into McGruder's path and impeding him) then pointing to the spot where they made the charge call, making the charge thing with his hand behind his head, then pointing back to the end where the "block" happened then throwing his hands up into a  :ck: then hands on hips and shaking his head no when they tried to sign language/yell back across the court to him.  Just a magnificent performance that culminated in the charge call and Frank doing his patented pace looking off in to the distance and clapping.  A delight from start to finish.

watch it yourself.  2:00 left on espn3 replay.  a decent crowd (another nancy you should have hit) would have booed the refs out of the building after that.  stupid, lazy, self-satisfied townie fucks.

martin's ref attacks sound delightful.

Wow.  That was horrible.  I don't think very many people saw it, they did not show a replay and it was right in front of the biggest empty spot in the house at the end of a blowout.  Perfect storm for the meh response.  I hope Martin bitched out the Big 12 office about the call though.

Our bigs and McGruder did an excellent job getting position inside. On Southwell's assist for the Samuels +1, Gipson was probably more wide open on the other side of the lane.

Wait you NNed Jamar for something you didn't see?  Nice job Tortkouga.  Also the sandstorm against WVU was absolutely legit.

My NNs
Tortuga-Possibly bogged down by expectations but this performance was forgettable after a series of virtuoso performances  :nono:

Blame me.  I suggested that as a PP.  I either 1) meant OOD only or 2) was too drunk at IBA to remember the legitimacy of that one.  :dunno:

Yeah, that's fair I guess.  I mean it was in real time and you were watching with multiple replays but I see your point.

just an imo here, but if someone was as far away as humanly possible but were still standing in ood that thing stuck out like a sore thumb. but the sore thumb was shooting incredibly white laser beams in all directions that melted your eyes.

NN:
-Moore using an MMA move on Jamar to draw a double foul.  that ref is a piece of crap for calling that.

-Spradling not hitting more of his open 3s.  he never seems to make a bunch in a row always missing one after making two.

-Ojeleye needs to stop practicing so well so Frank doesn't feel like he has to play him

-Jones looked clueless about where he was supposed to be on the floor.

-opp FTR in 1st half

-big 12 basketball chant

PP:
-Samuels and Henriquez dominating the paint on the defensive end.  thought they both could have been more aggressive on the offensive end but their work on the defensive end was fun to watch.

-freshmen playing well against a senior-laden squad  #teamangel, #teamnino, #teamgipson.  tuck sitting next to me hates Angel.  he hated Denis.  the 2 are nothing alike in terms of their basketball skill.  Gipson spin move.  looked like a travel at first.

-McGruder near perfect finishing around the rim.  alley-OOP!

-Irving an all around solid game.  the refs screwed him out of about 9 drawn charges.  if Spradling were getting that type of position it seems like he would be getting the call.  just sayin.

-Southwell stirring the drink.  stats at the half: 4-4-4 and some disruptive defense.

-big 12 basketball chant
