Anyone else think _FAN was a little lazy on his preview for the EMAW vs Missouri game? I don't know, maybe it's just me. Anyways, straight to the middle.  :bball: Go Cats.

I hate Missouri a lot. I hope we destroy them and all their ugly players/fans.

Does mean I have a squawk living in my subconscious?

Rebound, play a little defense, hit some shots. Most importantly turn this into a grinder/brawl. Win.

i want this one more than any of the big games the KSU Wildcats are involved this emaweek.

is Pressey just going to go right buy Spradling on every possession?

can Samuels guard English without getting in foul trouble?

can we exploit our size advantage?  if not do we go w/ a small lineup using McGruder at the 4?

can i drink enough bloody marys in the morning to ease the pain of the hangover i'm going to have from pak'n tonight?

all very good questions.  The first two abolute frighten me.  especially the first one.  I think Tay gets that duty though.  At least I hope so.  He did a good job on LBSt's point.  Hopefully Nino has an awful week of practice.  I don't want frank getting any ideas about him guarding English.

yes do not want Nino on the floor but there have only been 2 practices since Wednesday.   outside of Samuels Nino couldn't be the best defensive matchup could he?  i hope not.  Diaz might be able to run with English.  Henriquez might even be able to but i don't want to see it.  i bet we'll experiment with one of those lopsided matchups to see if the advantage is greater on the offensive / rebounding end.

so if Tay gets Pressey the matchups from the starters
Pressey - Irving
Dixon - Spradling
Denmon - McGruder
English - Samuels
Ratliffe - Gipson / (hoping Henriquez is starting here).

Looking at this matchup,  guys like Nino and Omari make for incredible recruiting disappointments.  If just one of those two could be something more than a placeholder for a future (yet similar) frank martin recruit, then it makes the match ups better for us.

Pretty difficult to pick up fouls while guarding a jump shooter.  Jamar picks up many of his fouls fighting on the blocks.

yep. if jamar is in foul trouble tomorrow it's because he's being a complete dumbass. english isn't a dribble drive, spot up shoot player. no reason for jamar to foul.

true, however when has Jamar had to run around and guard a 3 (essentially)?  Espeically one that you can't give an inch to.  He's not going to play every minute.  I'm curious who gets the call from the bench.

Yeah, and it's not like Jamar ever shows the propensity to be a dumbass and foul someone 30 feet from the basket.

Oh wait...

I expect JO to have a big game tomorrow considering he is a foot and a half taller than any Missouri player. just sayin... then again, I can see that not happening because it's JO.

The list of teams which didn't have a player within 5 inches of JO, and which he did jack squat against, is as long as his clown feet.

i don't follow.  how would they (or players that fit their mold) matchup better than what we have in that list.  or are you looking mainly at depth. like others have argued on here the 3 guys on the end of your bench aren't going to play much if at all on any team.

Such a stupid rough ridin' talking point, I really hate it.

BTW Jamar has committed a whole five more fouls than English on the season.  On the flip side of the coin Jamar has made five more FTs than English has even attempted.  Jamar's FTr is #1 in the conference.  Please continue this talking point though.

a) What does the number of fouls English has committed have to do with it?

b) Jamar is doing much better at the above this year, but the propensity for him to do stupid crap when he gets frustrated is still there, don't kid yourself.

FWIW, Jamar was top 5 in the conference in fouls each of the last two years. Top 3 in fouls per game.

a) you and zacker are concerned about English drawing fouls on Jamar, but the evidence shows that Jamar is far better at drawing fouls than English, or anyone else in the conference, and common sense tells us that a jump shooter guarding a back to the basket guy is more apt to foul than a back to the basket player guarding a jump shooter

b) every player in the world does that.  All Frank Martin players who actually play foul.  He plays with a motor, attitude, and guards a wide range of styles and positions.  His foul issues have little to do with stupid.

Enjoy the Cotton Bowl tonight Kougs!

I’m not concerned about Jamar fouling, I’m concerned with Jamar being able to guard him.  It isn’t like MU just has English stand on the wing and fire away three’s.  And then my other question was in regards to who else do we throw in there at the “4” to guard a “3” .  My guess is South-meth.  Finally, I was opining on the idea that this game highlights the waste of space that Nino and Omari are because they would help out with minutes in our 3 / 4 rotaiton.
