I nominate Deez Nutz to be LSOC's press secretary.

A true honor.

Personally, I love his pure hatred for KU more than about anything else on this board.

I actually like KU... K-State is obviously the more football tradition rich school but they don't hold a light to KU in round ball... which is knocking at our door! Hog's B-Ball team is rebuilding this year. Brand new coach and starting 4 freshman on average. All that to say, March is the best month of the year.

We have a basketball board.  You can discuss the nationally ranked KSU basketball team over there.

Nah... I'm not here to discuss basketball... However, it's easy to be nationally ranked when almost all teams are playing 80-90% cupcakes...

We can argue this on the mod board, but I'm not going to allow the December Arkansas episode to infect the hoops board.

And why wouldn't he?  Much the way Arkansas St. hates Arkansas.  It is hard to be the second best at everthing in your state.

A-state yearns for the attention given to Arkansas in the Statewide press.  Even in Jonesboro (ASU's location) Arkansas still receives top billing.

Always the little brother.  Always wantin the spotlight but never quite able to make it there.  Lights is too hot!  Always a bridesmaid.  A slightly overwieght shorter sister with bad breath.

Some A-State fans even try to compensate by comin up with elaborate stories about how much more refined they are and more sofisticated.  All the money they got.  Nice cars they drive.  But still on Saturday more fans watch Arkansas than the ugly step sister.  Now, I am a fan and will watch and root for A - State in the bowl game they got if I can remember when it is. As long as it ain't during the cotton bowl.

I don't think you guys need to feel ashamed for bein behind Kansas.  People all over see them as class.  When I think basketball, I think Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA (and 15 years ago I would have included Arkansas on this list - not anymore....not yet....but that is coming).

THERE IS NO SHAME IN BEING KNOWN FOR FARMING AND BAKING!  OWN IT.

And you Arkansas fans that are making fun of them for being a bunch of farmers!  All of you that think it is funny to get them to concoct stories about being rich.  HOW WOULD YOU FEEL if someone did this to the tiney pocket of A-State fans here.  Are you not gonna root for A-State in there bowl game?

The healing needs to start now.  Here.

Remeber KSU fans....number 2 in the state of Kansas is still pretty darn good.  Well, 2 or 3 if you count Coffeyvile Community College.  And thank God for Coffeyville and the talent we mine out of their.

The last thing I would ever feel is shame in KSU being an agriculture school.  In fact, that is the main reason I have been a lifelong fan.  And you may not know this, but since the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, KSU is 17-1 versus KU in all sports.  So the notion of KSU being the "little brother" in your scenario is completely laughable, Jack.  We routinely beat their ass like a red-headed step child.

Farming is another reason so many of our alumni are rich as a matter of fact.  This year the oil companies went around all over southern Kansas leasing up farm ground for the right to drill.  So my dad leased all of his ground for three years at $250 per acre, thus he got a windfall of $240,000 this year he wasn't even counting on.  And I highly doubt they will ever even drill on our land.  Yeah, life is good if you went to KSU.

We can argue this on the mod board, but I'm not going to allow the December Arkansas episode to infect the hoops board.

maybe I misunderstood, I thought this was suppose to be some kind of badass site where opposing team fans fear to tread.

why would anyone "fear" posting anywhere?

you did misunderstand, not surprisingly

why would anyone "fear" posting anywhere?

My sentiments exactly, I was parroting what some of your members posted on our board, how this place was badass cause you make fun of dead players and don't bother coming here if you can't take the heat.  I figure the last thing I'd see were posts like trim warning hog fans to not invade the BB board.
EMAW, trolls have about as much chancet around here as a pecker gnat buzzin the head of Jackie Chan.

We can argue this on the mod board, but I'm not going to allow the December Arkansas episode to infect the hoops board.

maybe I misunderstood, I thought this was suppose to be some kind of badass site where opposing team fans fear to tread.

I nominate Deez Nutz to be LSOC's press secretary.

A true honor.

Personally, I love his pure hatred for KU more than about anything else on this board.

The gentleman who details my weekend Land Rover is a proud Arky business school alum and President of the local Alumni Assoc.  I asked him about this "pig sooie" call and he told me the whole story.

He told me that the pig call is part of the ethos of all Arkansas fans.  It is ingrained in their psyche and DNA.   He explained that Arkansas fans and alumni are much more "pigs" than "Razorbacks."  They have much more in common with the barnyard swine than the feral hog on the helmet.  The food you throw away?  Like a pig, they will root in the trash for it.  Likewise with the car you won't drive, the job you won't take or the home you won't live in.  An Arky fan will crawl through the mud for those.  Happily and with pride.  This gentlemen will root around under my truck to scrub the skid plate with a tooth brush for an extra dollar.  He doesn't give a crap if it is muddy or I parked over a pile of dog flop.  He will rummage through my ash tray for a butt from my Cuban cigar so he can light it up on a special occasion.  He puts hard work FAR ahead of his pride or dignity and I salute him!

So it seems the call is very real and a source of pride.  I say hats off to the industrious pigaggy fan and their "never say never" attitude.

Incidentally, I flipped my detail guy an extra $50 for the info and he lit up like pig that just found an apple core covered in flies.

Then you woke up from a long nap on the pleather sofa in your single wide mobile home and remembered that you'd forgotten to change the water in your wife's dish.
When you jumped up from the fine furniture, alas, you'd sprouted wood and pitched a tent dreaming of a car you'll never have, money you'll never earn, and a Cotton
Bowl win for a team whose school you didn't attend.

It never hurts to dream big, Stumpy.

What sucks is waking up.
