This is like when you go to your old lady's office Christmas party...and she says that the really cool guy that knows a lot about sports and all other manly things is going to be there...and he's not. Instead, you're left talking to an accountant who has seen a few minutes of SportsCenter while he's at the dentist's office. So, you're not thinking about killing yourself while you're talking to him, you're just kind of hoping you can get drunk enough to make this conversation bearable. So, here goes...(disclaimer: I'm hammered)
Pros:
-Angel hit some threes...and dished the ball pretty well for the second game in a row.
- McGrudzzle went to the rim AND hit some threes (I would have settled for either.)
- Samuels was a JYC BOTH halves today.
- JO played well. Approached a DD while only playing half the game. I think that's how long Frank would ideally like to have him in the game. If he can put up a DD in those minutes, then I think everyone will be relatively happy.
-Adrian Diaz has way stronger hands (and better touch, do those things automatically go together?) than JO...and he's ONLY a freshman. Seems to play basketball in a less epileptic manner than JO did as a freshman. Good sign for the future. Has learned that when you are 7 foot tall you don't have to jump to block shots...him and Big Gip raise our big men's BBIQ significantly.
-JJ played acceptable defense. Thus, appeasing Frank enough to leave him in for significant minutes. Looks like he can hit the open three. At times that can be a rare commodity on this team.
-Marty is still super chiseled.
-Omari Lawrence kinda looks like Bill Walker if I squint really hard.
Cons:
-Will Spradling one two things: 1) Still sick? or 2) Super-white...he played like crap for the second game in a row. I think he should pull up and let it fly off the break at least three times a game. Seems like Frank has convinced him that he can take it to the hoop. Um, he can't. Will needs to live in the corner when he doesn't have the ball.
- Marty's gameplan seems to be this: try and dribble so hard that he slightly deflates the ball, so the other team is thrown off. Does Frank have the team practice with a slightly deflated ball? Need some recon to put this issue to rest. Also, Marty misses threes like it's his job. Marty should have to do 10 hours of community service every time he takes a shot outside of 15 feet.
-Angel turned the ball as much as he did against Bammer...defies explanation. Prolly has something to do with aliens or low tide or some other stupid crap.
- Nino Williams plays like he doesn't understand the basic tenants of basketball.
-Omari Lawrence is afraid to release his inner Bill Walker. Kind of how I feel about peeing in public, I know I can do it, but it's just going to take time.
-James Watson is horrible. Like a more confident Luis Colon without the size or touch on his shot

Meh:
-Thomas Gipson didn't play like a little boy, like he did against the Tide, but he didn't play like he's a man either. So, I couldn't really put him in either category. He was kinda like Biebs this game...not really a boy, not really a man.
-Jamar Samuels was a JYC today, but he didn't make many field goals. Did most of his damage at the stripe...was he just getting bailed out a lot?
Sorry if this sucked. If you think it blew ass...then eff you. If you think it was awesome...then eff you, Tortuga will be back soon.
