Williams changed his mind after Matt Abdelmassih left Iowa State late last week to become an assistant coach at St. John's. Abdelmassih was Williams' lead recruiter.

"I don't want to say anything about that," Williams said.

Does St. John's want him for sure?

http://sports.yahoo.com/uab/basketball/recruiting/player-Darien-Williams-158379

That's a long way from home.  :dunno:

He is a cali kid. Sometimes when a recruit loses his recruiter he washes his hands of both programs. Darien is interesting considering he didn't play this year. I don't think too many new schools with jump on his recruitment. I also think St. John is changing up it recurring strategy. Lavin want to recruit to New York, I think Mullin wants to recruit New York.

His recruitment is really silent.

From the article:

Quote
It’s worth noting that Creighton technically has no room for either player visiting this weekend; they have nine returning scholarship players and four incoming players (Khyri Thomas, Marlon Stewart, Martin Krampelj, and Justin Patton), meaning someone has to go if they get a commitment from either Trent or Mulder. Draw whatever conclusions from that you will.

That may work in our favor for both, if we're still interested in Mulder.  It sounds like he wanted to play at WSU, but he may be wide open if Marshall goes to Texas and Creighton doesn't have room.

And I'm throwing up in my mouth by saying that I hope WSU loses their coach and Creighton is full so we can get a JUCO guy from Canada.

With Harris going to Louisville, we have to have a shot at Mulder. Have to.

His stats aren't that great, and the video underwhelms.

If this is where we are right now, I've moved past panic and into euphoria because it means oscar has no chance to have a winning season next year.

I saw Toney play against Hutch in the Juco tournament...he was one of the most impressive players on the floor, but it was a pretty pedestrian floor.  He would have fit in nicely with the JYCs of the Martin era, but I'm not sure how he will translate to Brucesketball.  Seemed like he was a small guard who could get into the lane, but wasn't necessarily an outside threat.  Not sure he finishes against Big XII opponents.

Ty can score a little. I think he is down the list a bit on the combo guards we are looking at. There seems to be extreme pressure on the staff to win now. I think that is a good thing.

Pete Bell oscar Weber, a college basketball coach is under a lot of pressure. His team isn't winning and he cannot attract new players. The stars of the future are secretly being paid by boosters. This practice is forbidden in the college game, but Pete oscar is desperate and has pressures from all around.

I don't necessarily agree. I think they're under pressure, but not enough to get him fired next year.

A Kim Anderson kind of year may do it, but I don't think it will be that bad.  Maybe if they're single digit wins, sure.

I think he's got two more years.

Does Pepto cover a sour stomach due to the fact that your team and MU are the only two ppl in discussions with a recruit?

Russell Woods, Mac Irvin Fire - tremendously athletic power forward. Didn't play a lot for for Mac Irvin because of the team's top five frontline of Jabari Parker and Jahlil Okafor, but Woods had perhaps the most highlight dunks. Seems to have a natural intensity with his demeanor, not a guy who looks like he doesn't care out there.
