Good points. It looks to me like there were several breakdowns in communicating mixed with a couple assumptions. I agree that JO could not have gotten back to the lane, but McGruder probably could have, it looks like Sprads initial reaction is that they would get there. His immediate reaction is not to get back to the lane, but to find Bryant. McGruder actually slows down to find his man and runs into JO a little bit in doing so. Samuels initial reaction after going for the rebound is not to get back to the lane either. I'm sure in film Will, McGruder, JO, and Samuels were all thrown under the bus on this one. It was just bad transition defense.
