We're not racist, some of our best posters are black.

I read the name and I assumed it was a porno about super fat/ugly/poor people.  JD assumed it was about black people.

Little Rock back in the 90's was a sad state of affairs.  I think that city lead the nation in murder rate for consecutive years.
IDK why arkys keep bringing race up?  Murder is murder... I don't see the race connection.

What kind of question is that.  I had an aunt and uncle that lived there at that time.
My aunt was a professor and her husband was the dean at the local college there.
I'm a born and raised kansan, near Wichatit, ks.

As someone who has had to drive through Arkansas I can confirm that the movie is 100% representative of the citizens.

Are you kidding me? 100% of the citizens? Really? It seems, even in your obvious infinite knowledge, that you should know that putting out such an excruciating high number is a little much... Get real... Then you start talking about how WE are the racists but yet it's your jack rabbit posters that still always resort back to racism in the South, primarily in Arkansas, when they finally realize you don't stand a chance to win this football game.... Sounds pretty hypocritical to me...

I havn't seen the movie but I'm sure we can safely say it represents arky well.  It is an accurate depiction
of everyday life for average arky.

The motives of this baiting are so transparent (oh! there I go mentioning color again) its laughable, especially so to call me racist.
Now, since ~60% of the members of this forum seem very interested in "race" relations, I have offered to have a little schooling session to bring your state into the proper decade.
Since race is just a societal construct based on physical characteristics I don't believe it to exist inherently.

Any insightful opinions from the folks that like to use history as a bludgeon rather than a textbook?

look... the bottom line is that i wish arkansas would treat people with skin color that isn't white equally and i feel kind of angry and at the same time sad that they don't. i don't understand why you guys are like that and it kind of makes me dislike your state. i know i shouldn't judge the whole state that way and that the actions are just that of the majority and not everyone. it is just something that we will have to agree to disagree on i guess.

Wow, thank you, a good reply.
While, I can't speak so much for people far out of the city. I do think you have a general misconception about current race relations at least in Little Rock, but then again we are a city of ~200k people so that may have my own perception skewed.

EDIT: ...and one of your members is doing the whole baiting thing again...

Isn't this the film where the black girl has to be "beat in" to the gang, but the white girl doesn't?   Seems pretty racist to me.

I haven't seen it in years but I seem to remember that part.

Um...black people are not made up. Maybe that helps you sleep at night, but I assure you it's not true.

He is saying it is the makeup of Arky society to hate people based only on the pigment in their skin.  If Arky society would remove that predisposition I think they could really accomplish something.

Wrong.  Wrong wrong wrong.  Everybody on here but me is wrong.  As ussual!  There are no bigots in Arkansas except me and I am extremly bigoted!

Infact I just had a birthday back in July (4th ironically) and on the cake they put "Happy Birthday you queer hating racist Bigot!"  It was a red velvet cake with the cream cheese icing.

Anyway I just wanted to chime in and say that i consider myself the fourmost authorty and the biggest biggot in Arkanas at this time.  Anybody got a problem with that?
